Blackbird Flat Camping Ground is located on the Macleay Valley Coast on the western side of Kempsey. Situated on the Kempsey Armidale Road.

It is a free camping area located beside the Macleay River, which offers a back-to-nature camping experience. It's a great place for outdoor enthusiasts so bring the fishing rod, and canoe and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Tank water is available but bring drinking water. Pit toilets, shelter shed and covered wood barbecue area. Enjoy fishing, swimming, canoeing, picnicking, four-wheel driving and walking.

Not suitable for caravans, towing or large vehicles due to road conditions and restrictions. Access is via Kempsey Armidale Road which becomes a dirt single-lane road at Pee Dee, North West of Bellbrook.
