We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains who we are, how we collect, share, and use personal information about you, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. This policy applies to personal information that we collect through our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide to us, information we collect automatically, and information from third-party sources.

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you sign in using Google, we may receive information required to create and manage your account, such as your email address and an account identifier (and, depending on your Google settings, your name).
  • Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional details to personalise your profile, such as your first name, last name, date of birth, and gender.
  • User Content & Reviews: We collect content you submit to the Service, including ratings and reviews. Please note that your reviews are public and may be visible to other users on the Service.
  • Chat Prompts & History: To provide our AI-powered travel assistance, we store your chat prompts and the assistant’s responses. This allows you to view your history and access past results.
Note: Please avoid entering sensitive personal information (e.g., health details, government ID numbers, or financial account details) in your reviews or chat prompts.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Location Information: If you enable GPS or device location permissions, we collect precise location data to facilitate features like “Near Me” discovery.
  • Device & Usage Data: We may collect information about how you access the Service, including device type, operating system, and browser type.
  • Cookies & Analytics: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information. We may use analytics tools (such as Google Firebase) to understand usage patterns and improve user experience.

C. Information From Third-Party Sources

  • Google Sign-In: We receive account-related information from Google when you choose to sign in using Google.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To operate the Service, manage your login, store your chat history, and provide location-based features.
  • Personalisation: To customise your experience where applicable and provide relevant recommendations based on the information you choose to provide and how you use the Service.
  • AI Processing: To process your prompts via our AI service providers (see Section 3) to generate responses and recommendations.
  • Security & Improvement: To maintain the security of our Service, prevent misuse, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve the reliability and functionality of the platform using analytics.

3. AI Features and Data Usage

Our Service utilises Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to provide recommendations and responses.

  • Providers: We use third-party cloud and AI service providers (such as Amazon Web Services) to process your inputs and generate responses.
  • Data Usage: We store chat history to provide the Service to you and display your history. We do not use your prompts or personal data to train our own internal AI models.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, such as cloud hosting providers, authentication services, analytics providers, and AI processors.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.

5. International Data Transfers

We are based in Australia, but our Service operates on a global infrastructure.

  • Overseas Processing: Some of our service providers may store or process information outside of Australia.
  • Safeguards: We take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place when your data is transferred to overseas providers, consistent with Australian privacy laws.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

  • Chat History: We do not currently have a fixed auto-deletion period for chat history; chats remain available until you delete them or request account deletion.
  • User Control: You can manually delete specific chats within the product interface.
  • Backups: Once data is deleted from the active system, it may remain in our encrypted backup systems for up to 30 days before being permanently removed.

7. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical steps to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in accordance with applicable Australian requirements, which may include notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

8. Third-Party Websites

Our Service may contain links that redirect you to third-party websites (for example, tour or event providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and their privacy policies will apply.

9. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Correction: You can update your profile details directly within your account settings. You may also request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by contacting us.
