Bringing together works across gouache, oil, paper and textiles, Shade looks at the play of shadow in places – through gardens, windows, trees, cliffs, rain and water.

For Alexandra, shade is both visual and physical: the pattern cast by light, and the relief felt when stepping out of the heat.

"It's about noticing things you might have missed" Alexandra says.
