The Dreamtime Story of the gum tree greets people as they arrive at Campbelltown Railway Station.
The 2012 public artwork âThe Standoutâ by Dhungatti Australian Archibald Prize winner Blak Douglas, has been revitalised.
Consisting of 83 panels installed across 235 metres of bus shelters at Campbelltown City Railway Station âThe Standoutâ pays homage to the Dharawal Dreamtime Story of the âSeven Eucalyptsâ. The artwork features Douglasâ previous photographic series of deceased gums standing alone within landscapes and casting shadows within urban facades.
Originally commissioned by Campbelltown City Council in 2012, with special thanks to Transport for NSW.
