About
Endeavour Fern Gully is a 28 hectare National Trust property that encompasses the headwaters of Stony Creek and features an un-spoilt fern gully. This Gully is one of the rare surviving areas of this type of indigenous bushland found on red basaltic soil in the Mornington Peninsula. A 2km nature trail provides easy access along the Gully and through the woodland.
Rare plant species can be found and the Fern Gully is a vital source of habitat and food for a wide variety of animals and birds. It is a critical part of a wild life corridor in the Stony Creek area forming habitat links in this highly fragmented area.
The car park and entrance is located opposite the Red Hill Recreation Reserve on Arthurs Seat Road.
The 2km loop trail of boardwalk and walking track is accessed via a very steep path. The walk is closed on total fire ban days.
