The Briars Park Wetland Walk
Commencing at the gate on the eastern side of the Visitor Centre, this 350 metre boardwalk leads to the Boonoorong and Chechingurk hides where you can view the amazing birdlife at the Briars. The area, once part of the farm, has been planted with indigenous species and includes several wetlands built on the Balcombe Creek floodplain. This walk can be extended by linking to the Tichin-Goroke Link path. Please note that the Viewpoint is not wheelchair accessible.
The Briars Park Ker-Bur-Rer Walk
This is a 4km return walk in the Wildlife Sanctuary through a variety of vegetation including dense scrub and woodland. Commencing via the gate on the western side of the Visitors Centre crossing Stockleys Creek then Balcombe Creek. Alternatively take the fire trail on the left up hill for a short distance to the start of the walk. The walk will take you through both open grassy woodlands, changing to dense scrub woodland as you descend to Balcombe Creek onto great views of reed swamps and farmland before reaching the Wetlands Viewpoint where you can choose your return journey to the Visitor Centre via the Woodland Walk or the Tich-Geroke Link. Not suitable for prams or wheelchairs. This walk is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. The pathway is both formed gravel track and boardwalk with occasional steps. There are some uphill sections.
The Briars Park Tichin-Goroke Link
This short 400 metre gravel and wooden boardwalk links the Woodland Walk with the wetlands, hides and Visitor Centre. Commencing as a branch off the Wetland Walk and finishes at the Wetland Viewpoint. Once at the viewpoint, walkers can choose to continue on to the Ker-Bur-Rer Walk or loop back around to the Visitor Centre via the Woodlands Walk. The Tichin-Goroke Link is suitable for wheelchairs to the end of the boardwalk section.
