










Built in 1916, their Garden Riverview Apartment can accommodate up to four guests across two bedrooms and boasts views of Woolwich and Hunters Hill. The outdoor deck and barbeque are adjoined by a tranquil, enclosed garden, making it an ideal setting for entertaining company.

Once home to Cockatoo Island’s medical officer and engineering manager, their two Federation-style heritage houses can each accommodate up to 12 people. Set amidst lush gardens on the upper island, these beautifully restored dwellings – built circa 1913 – boast an outdoor barbeque and entertainment area, with views across to Hunters Hill.

Cockatoo Island offers five camping options, catering for a range of budgets, group sizes and occasions, including romantic getaways and family vacations. To combine your love of the Great Outdoors with your desire for homely comforts, select one of their deluxe packages! Pre-furnished tents and Appelles Apothecary toiletries are included. There’s even an opportunity to camp directly on the waterfront, enabling you to watch the sun set and rise on the world’s best harbour!

Once occupied by Cockatoo Island’s dockyard launch driver and coxswain, their three charmingly restored Harbour View Apartments truly live up to their name. Situated near Biloela Lawn on the upper island, each boasts a large entertaining balcony overlooking Sydney Harbour. Their Harbour View Apartments include a single room apartment for two guests (23C) plus two double bedroom apartments (23A and 23B), which can accommodate up to five guests each.

To make your visit as easy as possible, book a Camping Package and your campsite will be set up for you. All you have to bring are your sleeping bags, pillows and a torch. As soon as you arrive, you're ready to enjoy your stay. The camping package includes a pre-erected Campmor Hennie Dome tent (2.4 metres by 2.4 metres), two mattresses and two camping chairs. Extra camping mats and chairs can be hired from the Accommodation Office. The tents sleep up to two adults and two small children, or up to three adults. The campground kitchen includes a communal refrigerator, microwave, ten barbecue areas, and a zip boiling water system.

Cockatoo Island offers one of the world's great camping experiences. Situated in the heart of the city, the campground offers spectacular views of world-famous Sydney Harbour. All sites are near the water's edge at the Northern end of Cockatoo Island. Camping sites includes an unpowered four metre by four metre site, suitable for a maximum of four people. For food preparation, all campers have access to the communal camping kitchen that includes 10 barbecue areas, a refrigerator, microwave, and a boiling water system. You will need to supply your own cooking utensils, cutlery and plates. Campers are welcome to bring their own food, however food can also be purchased at the island's cafes or bar.
