Rydges Armidale

I arrived back at room at night , so hadn't checked room over properly... in the morning I discovered left rubbish, dirty bathroom and generally not a clean room. I rang the reception to advise ; and was told management would call me back to sort out ; they didn't!! Overall the rooms were outdated and in need of a refurbishment, grotty carpets, stains in tub and toilet , walls looked like had smokers for twenty years. I am an evt member and pick rydges usually cause they are good , this was not the case. Will look elsewhere on next visit, not sure how this is a 4 star. Based on my stay a 2 star would be my rating.

Rydges Armidale is in a great location with excellent amenities and impressively spacious rooms, but the real standout is the bed. The bed was incredible! Extremely comfortable, perfectly supportive, the right amount of soft feathery pillows to make a nest, and honestly one of the best sleeps I’ve had in ages. I can’t stop talking about the bed. If you’re looking for a stay where you’ll rest deeply and wake up refreshed, this is the place.

NO DONT DO IT !!!!!!! My husband and I are not small people and the bed was Terrible!!!!!!!!!! Size of a small double , lop sided bed with a mattress protecter so thick iit was so soft and ridiculously uncomfortable and made the bed so hot !!!!!! The air conditioner was around a corner and couldn’t feel it at all from the bed very very hot we paid full price for a terrible stay the I played on a towel on the floor under the aircon by 4 am I couldn’t stand how hot it was no fan in the room and by no means is it in the centre of town as advertised. Could not walk to the centre of town also carpet was filthy please do not stay here I would not even give it a 2 No pool nothing just Terrible my stay here was the absolute pits

Stayed here one night a few months ago. The room stunk badly as soon as we walked in which was very unpleasant. We soon worked out it was due to the carpet which was absolutely soaking wet. We had to use all our towels to put on the floor to soak up the wet and left them their all night so we could walk past to get to the bathroom. We told reception and asked for more towels which we received. But it would have been nice to have been moved to a different room so we didn't have to put up with wet socks and a smelly room all night. The place is very dated and is absolutely not deserving of a 4.5 star rating. Will not be staying here again and will advise friends and family to avoid. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the staff were great, food was lovely.
