Walkabout Gourmet Adventures

We very much enjoyed our recent Spirit of Japan tour with our great guuide Pepijn whose knowledge of Japan and it's history was amazing. He was also a well organised and helpfull leader. The walks were exceptional as was the food, accomodation and efficient train travel. We were very fortunate to enjoy a small group of very friendly travellers. The autumn colours were stunning.

The spring Spirit of Japan Walkabout Gourmet Adventures tour recently completed was wonderful, even better than we had expected. Our guide, Pepijn, was a fountain of knowledge about Japanese culture, history, their food and the places we visited. The selection of accommodation where we stayed was very good with a variety of Western style and Japanese traditional accommodation. While the train system in Japan is amazing, the crowded stations can be challenging but Pepijn guided us through the many stations with ease. The walks chosen were excellent, a variety of distances and climbs and met our expectations. Definitely will be recommending this walk to our friends and family

What a brilliant trip. Our two guides for our Pilgrim's Way Camino adventure, Olivier and Magali, were fantastic and steered us safely and enthusiastically over mountain trails, across the Plains of Spain and through ancient towns and cities. We were treated to local history, flora and fauna facts and a host of interesting snippets on our trails. We became a tight knit group of firm friends, laughing and enjoying each others company on our journey through the Basque and Spain. Hotels were magnificent and we stayed in Palaces and grand residences. The “gourmet” wasn’t as exciting as I had hoped but all was still excellent for the most part. Can’t fault it. What a joy it was.

My first experience with WGA was a very positive one. Graeme was a capable guide, with excellent local knowledge and great leadership skills, bringing everyone in the group together. We were well looked after with good transport, accommodation and meals (in fact maybe too much food, though there were no complaints about the quality!). The walks did not disappoint, with the highlight being Day 3 along the Razorback trail. The program finished with an enjoyable lunch at Brown Bros winery in Milawa. I will definitely be considering another walk, either in Australia or overseas, with WGA.
