Printmaking is an almost magical process. This immersive two-day workshop will explore the creative possibilities of the gel plate printing process on both paper and fabric. Elements from your printed fabrics will be cut and appliquéd onto a base cloth. Using simple running stitch and/or seed stitch, you will embellish and enhance your designs. You will create and take home a collection of paper prints for cards or art works, a mini printed and stitched wall hanging, and a generously sized printed and stitched Furoshiki—traditional Japanese cloth used for wrapping and carrying objects.

About Your Tutor: Barbara Dawson is an artist working across drawing, photography, printmaking, and stitch. While her current practice focuses on layered, contemplative works, she brings a love of process and material exploration to teaching. Her workshop shares accessible techniques in print and stitch, encouraging participants to experiment, slow down, and discover their own creative voice.
