About

The Berry Writers' Festival is a biennial celebration of words and literature in the regional township of Berry, NSW, established in 2022 by community volunteers.

Berry Writers' Festival: three days of workshops, talks and discussions featuring new and established local authors and creatives from further afield. The festival nurtures literary culture, a love of reading amongst children and forges resilient connections amongst authors and the South Coast community.

The festival is a space for a range of opinions, perspectives and philosophies to cover contemporary political and social issues and to embrace diversity. They offer performances, workshops and masterclasses to encourage those interested in developing their talents or learning more about a range of topics. Key components of the importance of the 2026 festival are the School's Program, which gives more than 1600 children access to specialty author programs, and the free access showcase for debut writers, which is run in collaboration with the South Coast Writers Centre.
