Winnie’s

Winnie's is named after the first woman to perform at the Sydney Opera House: Winifred Atwell. She was born in Trinidad and in 1964 (nine years before the iconic landmark was finished), the musician donned a hard hat and performed Waltzing Matilda on her honky-tonk piano to Opera House construction workers. This all-day venue (by the same team behind neighbouring Opera Bar) aims to please audiences, too. There are riffs on Aussie classics (avocado toast, an Anzac biscuit dessert dolloped with vanilla ice-cream and sweet drizzles of golden syrup butterscotch) and cocktails flavoured with native Australian ingredients, like wattleseed, finger lime, Geraldton wax and river mint.
