About

This walking with wild wombats tour gets guests close to wild wombats and kangaroos in their native environment. These iconic Australian native marsupials are free to roam and there are no fences that hold them there. Whilst this amazing tour focuses on the bare nose wombat (or common wombat), guests will see other Australian native animals including the kangaroo and wallaby as well as some Australian birds such as the lyrebird.

Travel Ideology picks you up from your central city hotel and we depart. It is a private tour so there are no other pickups and no walls of people scaring off the wildlife when we encounter wildlife. We visit stunning scenery including the world's largest blowhole, a beautiful waterfall, beaches, stunning hills, farmland, rainforest and more.

With luck, you will also have the opportunity to see some of Australia's other iconic wildlife. In addition to wild wombats and kangaroos, you will normally see wallabies, lyre birds and parrots. Occasionally, we see pelicans, echidnas, fruit bats and reptiles.

This unique and amazing private wombat tour stops at a lovely country pub for a late meal, giving you the opportunity to experience the charm and hospitality of an Australian country town.

Sydney Parrots and Other Native Birds

This Sydney Parrots and Other Native Birds tour gives guests a unique opportunity to experience some of the amazingly rich birdlife of Sydney. The city's parrot life is amazing. Whilst Australia's kangaroos, koalas and wombats are iconic, there's more to this country than its amazing mammals. Did you know that one sixth of the world's parrots call Australia home? 56 species of the 300 or so species of parrot are found in Australia, and only five of these are found elsewhere in the world. More than a dozen of these are found in Sydney and many are found throughout the city's leafy suburbs. On your Sydney Parrots tour, you will see parrots and other native birds in at least three different locations around the city including a unique island where there are no cars and residents use wheelbarrows to cart their shopping home. During this day tour you may see many of Sydney's colourful parrots including king parrots, cockatoos, lorikeets, corellas, galahs and more. On some days you may encounter only a few of these species, on others they will find ten or so. Often, they may also see other birds including pelicans, ibis, kookaburras, brush turkeys, lapwings and magpies.
