At low tide, a small bay surrounds a reef which becomes exposed, creating a great spot for snorkeling and a good location to see migrating whales as they come close to the coastline.

Professional Central Coast Council lifeguards patrol Toowoon Bay Beach from Monday until Friday. During weekends and on Public Holidays these locations are patrolled by Sur Life Saving volunteers.
