Sapphire Palms Motel

We were extremely disappointed and genuinely frightened by our experience at Sapphire Palms Motel. From the moment we arrived, there was a strong urine and foul smell coming from the driveway, reception area, and around the family rooms. The property was very dark, dingy, and appeared unclean. There were people loitering around who made us feel extremely uncomfortable — including what appeared to be drug-affected individuals and others staring at us. As a group with families, we felt unsafe and genuinely worried our cars wouldn’t still be there in the morning. The overall environment was so unsettling that we did not stay the night. We only inspected the rooms and facilities before deciding to leave immediately. We honestly felt safer sleeping in our cars than staying here. The conditions reminded us of poorly maintained military barracks — and not in a good way. At $450 per night (for two nights), this was wildly overpriced for the condition and atmosphere of the place. The only positive I can say is that the owner was very nice and polite, which made the situation harder, but unfortunately it didn’t change how unsafe and uncomfortable we felt. For comparison, we ended up booking a beautiful, brand-new Airbnb for 9 people, with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, spacious, modern, and spotless — all for $670 total. The contrast was unbelievable. This place genuinely left us shaken, and we still talk about it — almost like a nightmare. I would strongly advise others, especially families, to look elsewhere.

Overpriced for what it was. Never been to a hotel/motel that didn’t provide shampoo, conditioner or soap, even the cheap ones and this room was NOT cheap. The lights outside the place is rigged up to a sensor at the front so it goes out inconveniently and lights up whenever ANYONE passes the sensor. It’s inconvenient annoying and dangerous. The pool was a bit gross but it was a heatwave and kids had been playing there earlier. Had a big ole possum come and stare at us so that was nice. The owners were lovely. The place is located directly across from a 7/11 which was hugely convenient and close to everything. All in all a good stay but they NEED to not be so bloody stingey!! Charging THAT much they need to keep those rooms stocked!!

Absolute best service ever. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms are pretty basic(being in the cheapest room they had though) but have everything you need including tea/ coffee, fridge air-conditioning and microwave. Bonus is communal kitchen with stove top and fridge stocked with various things. The big win here is the staff. Amazing, attentive, friendly and helpful. That's what really makes it a great place.

Me and my family stayed last night in room number 4 and found 2 bed bugs which were both easily visible on the bed head in dull lighting, I squished one on the bedhead and grabbed the other tightly in my hand and threw it straight on the floor which killed it then I scooped up the one which was still in one piece and went to show the staff to report it and request a refund which after doing some personal research I found out they're are required by law to provide a full refund under these circumstances. Instead they refused to provide a refund and just become angry and came to the room while my 3year old son was still asleep in the other bed and opened the curtains right up as well as and turned every light in the room on to flip the mattress and have a look then tell us to hurry up and get out.... Worst motel experience ever!!!! Do not stay at sapphire palms
