Did the tree Airwalk and the Huon Pine walk yesterday. These were very easy walking. The Airwalk was amazing, being among the canopy of such ancient trees was an education. 150yrs for walk height level. The Huon Pine walk was ground level amongst massive Stringy Barks the circumference of these was enormous. A very big thank you to the staff. We were transported to these walks. The buggy service was something special. I could not have had this special experience without their generous help. I am 89. The coffee was also very good. Many thanks to all concerned. Eugenie Wood. Tahune Adventure is bloody good and well worth the trip. The AirWalk is the standout — walking high above the forest canopy with sweeping views over the Huon River and the valley is something pretty special. It’s peaceful, a bit thrilling, and gives you a real appreciation of how wild and beautiful Tassie is. The whole area is well looked after and easy to get around. There are a few different walking options, from short, easy strolls to longer tracks if you feel like stretching your legs. The suspension bridges are a lot of fun and feel solid and safe, even if you’re not great with heights. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone who just wants to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Staff are friendly, everything’s well organised, and there’s plenty of space to take photos or just stop and soak it all in. If you’re after a proper nature experience not too far from Hobart, Tahune Adventure is a top choice. Fresh air, stunning views, and a very Tassie day out. 🌿
We visited Tahune Adventures on a day trip and absolutely loved the views — the scenery is stunning and the café food was excellent. There are also plenty of beautiful walking tracks in the park that are genuinely dog friendly and safe. The only issue we experienced was with the AirWalk. Although it is advertised as dog friendly, the steel grating caused our dog to limp, and it can be unsafe for many dogs’ paws. I raised this with management and appreciate that the Operations Manager responded quickly and professionally. I’m hopeful the AirWalk will either be made dog safe with protective matting or that dogs will no longer be allowed on this particular structure. Aside from this, it’s a lovely place to visit, and there are many other walks where dogs can enjoy the forest without any risk of injury.
This was the highlight of our 2 week 1200km trip in and around the south east of Tasmania. The Air Walk was spectacular which showed the devastation of the 2019 wild fires that swept through the valley, and the Huon Pine Walk was also fabulous. It was well sign posted with interesting facts about the ancient history of these incredible trees We even saw a black tiger snake on our path! Also the staff were so friendly and helpful. We suffer from bad knees and they quickly suggested we make use of the buggy to get to the beginning of the Air Walk. And then they came and picked us up to take us to the start of the Huon Pine Walk! Definitely a must see and worthy of 5 stars *****
Recommended by a friend and we are glad we chose this adventure. Warning: DO NOT take the Google maps route that shows the shorter forest logging route! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The airwalk and swinging bridge walk were worth it even with the intermittent rain and wind. We found it safe and adventurous enough. The climb is steady and the views are unique. The swinging bridge is a great spot for pics. Enjoyed the coffee they made as we walked along. Don't miss the little beach (Aussie humour as usual!) The cafe has limited menu but is great for a snack or a quick lunch. There are clean toilets. The actual highway drive is good with great views and very relaxing (unlike the logging route that got us worried!). Also a word of appreciation to the staff who kept us calm when we realized we'd left our camera bag in Mount Wellington. She helped us make phonecalls via their wifi, showed genuine concern, ensured we made rational decisions and enabled us to enjoy the entire walk relaxes rather than stressed! Faith in humanity restored!! (We did find the bag in Mount Wellington when we returned after 6 hours)
