The Pines Pastoral runs 400 head of cattle at any one time and approximately 100 young heifers. The Pines Pastoral is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Southern Highlands near the town of Moss Vale.
The Pines Pastoral is a 700-acre farm run by Robyn and Ingrid, who have a real commitment to producing quality products. With a 400-strong herd of world-renowned Black Angus cows, the main production is beef.
The walking tours take approximately 1.5 hours and allow you to feel the space and experience the quietness that a large farm offers. This is a great opportunity to see the Black Angus cattle breed in its natural home and the baby calves who are only a few weeks old.

This was a fantastic place to visit, it’s basically a farm which is also a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast 😀) while also operating as a working cattle farm . We did a farm tour which was so interesting. Our guides were Robyn and Ingrid, they were so friendly and informative. Very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Even though it was raining ☔️, we still had a great experience. We got to get up close to a mother and calf which was a wonderful opportunity. We were shown inside one of their several B & B Cottages (Named Possum). There’s six 6️⃣ cottages scattered over 700 acres of countryside. These were converted from milking sheds. I would definitely recommend visiting here, it’s a fantastic place. Thumbs up from me. 👍👍👍

Sugar Glider Cottage. Beautiful, serene location. Cottage interesting & quite well set up but unfortunately superficially clean. Rustic, but not clean enough for us. As we are part of the 20 -35% of Australians with allergy problems, we had health issues. Dusty under furniture, on ledges, on slatted window blinds & in door jambs. Gave it a go to clean these up. Mould around the bottom of the shower, rising damp. The bedding had a strong nasty smell and fragrance (toxic heavy duty washing powder?) Some throws were dusty. Oven was oily and greasy - didn't use it. Lounge was outdated, uncomfortable & smelly - needs replacing. Decided not to use the log fire as this could have made my asthma even worse. No microwave present. If you are ok with dust, allergy stuff then you may be ok if not then we don't recommend. The extras and location did not cancel out taking a week to get over these allergic problems.

Stayed here for 2 nights during NYE. Wonderful serene hidden spot overlooking the rolling hills. Country style cottages. Nice and clean. Lovely Host. Robyn the owner show us around the paddock and the working farm. We wander off a bit and met with their heifer calf following us as we walked.
We stayed at one of the cottages name Blue Wren. The back side overlooking bushes and trees. Warm in winter with its fireplace and nice cool breeze in summer sitting on the patio.

Such a serene place to stay. We absolutely loved our time at the Echidna cottage. Robyn was a diligent and wonderful host. The walk into the surrounding bush was magical as we saw deer, kangaroos and of course quite possibly the most happiest cows on the planet. Cottage was warm amd inviting. The views were like something out of a story book. Would love to go back for a longer stay.

Beautiful! Had a lovely weekend at the Pines Pastoral! Owned by a very lovely lady and full of love and care. Nice fireplace, private sauna, very pretty rooms with super comfortable blankets. It's a bit far from everything, but that's exactly what we wanted, romantic privacy in a quite mountain area.
We'll be back for sure.
