Anzac Memorial

The Australian War Memorial is an absolute amazing national monument that captures the real courage and spirit of our brave ANZACS and soldiers. The exhibits are so moving and educational. The Last Post ceremony at the closing of each day is an unforgettable experience. Each ceremony focuses on a fallen soldier. Words can not explain the emotions that one feels. The staff are amazing. My elderly mum and I were so taken back with their care and sharing their own stories and knowledge of our war history and the losses our country has endured. We shall remember them.

A poignant and touching memorial with a small, but informative museum. Well worth a visit if you’re into history. The exhibition tells the background history (mainly 1916 to 2005) and the story of individuals. A lot of information is packed into a fairly small space. The building itself is a beautiful art-deco structure with an elegant sculpture at its center.

The ANZAC Memorial at Hyde Park is incredibly moving and beautifully maintained. The architecture is stunning up close, and the reflections inside create a calm, respectful atmosphere. It’s a powerful place to pause, learn, and remember, and the staff and displays inside really help you understand the history behind it. A meaningful stop right in the heart of the city.

Came here one evening for a walk after dinner. The weather was cool with a few couples minding their own business doing their thing. One thing to watch out for when walking under the trees especially in the evening are bats. Boy, they are huge and watch out for their droppings. Seriously mate, I kid you not. One did a low flyby and releases it payload a few metres ahead of me 😅 It was a good walk.
