I did the full moon tour and WOW- what an amazing time. Matt is very a genuine, grounded and knowledgeable guide, a great communicator and all-round great person. He catered to the different needs of the entire group in a way that seemed effortless, resulting in the whole group feeling very much at ease and able to explore at their own pace. It was a beautiful sunset and moonrise. Such a great way to explore an otherwise difficult to access area. We saw lots of wildlife, especially birds. It was all in all a great time. I will definitely be back with friends and guests. Thanks once again Matt!
I made a last minute decision to jump on one of the full moon kayak tours and am so glad that I did! From the beginning, Matt made sure that everyone felt welcome. We put on life jackets, got a quick lesson on how to paddle and then headed off. Matt checked in with everyone throughout the tour and ensured that we all felt comfortable. There were opportunities for more advanced kayakers to push ahead, and slower ones, like myself, to take our time. After paddling onto a sandbank, we learnt to use yabby pumps and felt like big kids, delighted in finding some - it was so much fun! We tasted some native plants growing in the area and learnt interesting facts about local marine life and the ecosystem. (Matt might have made up a few of the facts himself!!!) Matt has a wealth of knowledge and a marine science background (or something like that) and was more than happy to impart some of it with enthusiasm and humour. The paddling wasn't strenuous and everyone felt like they could go at their own pace. There were single and double kayaks and all of them had back supports. Matt brought cookies and fruit which we ate whilst waiting for the moon to come out from behind the clouds. Unfortunately the moon didn't surface but it didn't really matter. It was a really enjoyable evening! Matt took heaps of photos and forwarded them on to everyone early the following morning. I would highly recommend taking the unique tour, alone, or in a group. It was such a great experience... I will be back!
My husband and I did the 2 hour river kayak. Loved the serenity, sightings of various bird species, jumping mullets etc. We even spotted a small stingray and turtle in the shallows which was an extra bonus. We chose a time when the tide was outgoing and found it a very easy and enjoyable paddle. Water temperature was perfect and we finished it off with a quick dip. Matt was great to deal with and very friendly. You can see he loves his job.
We had the most wonderful kayaking experience from start to finish. It was relaxed, fun, and very well organised. A special mention to Matt, our guide, who truly made the day unforgettable. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, making everyone feel comfortable and confident on the water. Matt shared great local insights along the way and had such a calm, positive energy that made the experience even more enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more memorable kayaking adventure. Highly recommend this experience to anyone 🌊🚣♀️
Highly recommended to book a full moon paddle tour with Matt. Amazing to be immersed in beautiful natural waterways watching the sunset and the moonrise. Steady paced with lots of local information and knowledge about marine life and respectful of Gumbayngirr country. An easily accessible activity, no experience in paddling needed with Matt providing all equipment and instruction. Book now, you will not regret it!!
