Join a hands-on blending experience, creating your own unique bottle of wine to take home.
The wine educators will guide you through the process of selecting and blending different varietals to create a wine that perfectly suits your taste. You’ll get to experiment with different blending ratios until you find the perfect combination. Along the way, you’ll learn about the characteristics of different grapes and how they contribute to the final product.
Once you’ve created your blend, the team will bottle it up and you’ll get to take it home with you as a one-of-a-kind souvenir of your experience. And of course, you’ll also get to enjoy a glass or two of your creation as you work.
This blending experience is perfect for wine lovers of all levels – whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of wine.

Most amazing fun! Declan did a great job of explaining the process and making it really accessible to wine drinkers and non alike. A great activity that really helped my appreciation of wine and a great gift to take a bottle we made home. Thank you so much Declan! A really unique experience in the Valley.

Very much recommend that Wine Making Experience in the Hunter. Declan is a very goodand talented host... he knows his business... We were 3 of us and enjoyed every minute + you leave with a bottle of your own wine so if you don't like it, that is your fault and cannot blame anyone else because on that day you are the winemaker.

What an awesome time we had with Declan learning about blending wines. He had a really clear way of breaking down wine characteristics which enables you to get into the fun blending bit quickly. Bottling up at the end was loads of fun and we enjoyed trying each others blends over that nights BBQ dinner. Terrific time, definitely recommend this experience.

Had such a fab tasting at McCaffrey’s Estate. The host was so generous with his knowledge without being condescending. The wines and cheese were excellent. We did purchase a good amount of both. Really lovely place that I absolutely recommend.

McCaffrey's Estate Winery have a Wine Club named "Convivial" and that is such an apt description of the reception and experience you will receive the moment you arrive at the cellar door. Danielle and Declan, who own the family business, are just delightful people. They have a wonderful knowledge of wine-making and many enchanting stories of how some of the wines are named. Wines!!! Well from vivacious Verdelho to a superb Sharaz the range of wines is superb and all of them very special. We have just enjoyed a wine tasting with Declan at the helm and inevitably walked out with a box of wine. The cheese from Hunter Belle that accompanied the wine was perfectly matched too! We have been members, convivial naturally, for a year and we are really looking forward to the "Winemaker for a Day" experience. There are so many wineries in the Hunter Valley and now, as locals, we are trying to find our favourites. McCaffrey's is right at the top of our list and you should make sure that you make time for a visit. I promise that you will be delighted with the wine and the experience.
