Run by Mark Brown and Kate Beveridge, Purple Pear Farm, Education Centre and Biodynamic farm offers learning opportunities based on over 20 years of experience in teaching, farming, sustainability, permaculture, biodynamics and community building.
Purple Pear Farm is a flourishing, productive farm and education centre with mandala gardens, forest foods and established permaculture, along with biodynamic and organic farming practices.
Available to group bookings of ten or more people, courses and farm tours include permaculture design, introduction to permaculture, preserving the bounty, mandala gardens, introduction to biodynamics, compost making, propagation, grafting, worm farms, sourdough bread and cheese and yogurt workshops.

Purple Pear Farm Tour
If you are interested in food and gardening and you enjoy meeting others who do too, then you are going to love the monthly farm tour. Looking at permaculture, organic growing, biodynamics, community supported agriculture, farm animals, sustainable energy, holistic farm management, water management, fruit and nut trees, mandala gardening and more. They run this tour with emphasis on aspects most interesting to the group on the day. Tours can still go ahead if it is raining. Please ensure you have appropriate outdoor clothing, gumboots and raincoats for wet weather and closed in shoes, sunscreen and sun hats for hot weather.

Absolutely amazing farm! I went here on a school excursion to learn about polyculture farming and it was a great experience. Kate and Mark were so welcoming and all their animals were were very welcoming. It was fantastic to learn about all the work they do for the local community and environment. Highly recommend! :)

I came here with my school today and it was the most amazing learning experience I’ve ever had. Kate and Mark are so incredibly warm and knowledgeable, and their passion for what they do is so evident and inspiring. Their whole operation is something I’ve never seen before and every aspect is clearly so thoughtfully considered to respect our environment. Purple Pear Farm is paving a new path and setting the standard for sustainable regenerative food production - which is more of what this world needs. Also the doggies, pigs, cows, chickens and goats are so cute!!!!

My wife and our 2 years old son organised a very last minute camping at the farm for easter. We had a wonderful experience and our baby was delighted to discover all the farm animals for his very first camping experience. Before you leave, make sure to buy a jar of natural honey, it s delicious!
