We did snorkeling here and wow — Rob is an absolutely wonderful person. He’s enthusiastic, friendly, and genuinely caring, and he made us feel completely relaxed even though it was our first time snorkeling and we have no swimming experience. His instructions on where to meet were clear, and his demo and explanations took all the stress out of the process. Everything suddenly felt easy and natural. Rob set us up with wetsuits, snorkeling gear, and life jackets, prepared us patiently, and then led us into the water. He stayed with us the entire time, guided us safely, and even took us around different corners of the marine sanctuary so we could see more. Rob is also a qualified free‑dive instructor, and his knowledge is incredible. He can answer any question you throw at him — from wetsuits and dive techniques to how wind direction changes between winter and summer, how it behaves differently on land versus the ocean, and even what causes the swell. He explains everything with so much clarity and context that you feel confident before you even get in the water. The marine sanctuary in Nelson Bay is stunning — so many varieties of fish and such beautiful underwater scenery. It was an incredible experience, and honestly, it was only possible because of Rob’s support and guidance. I absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially beginners. Rob made it unforgettable.
