Nepean River Tours offers fishing charters and river tours of the Nepean River and Warragamba River Gorges. The gorges are a true hidden gem of Sydney with high sandstone cliffs, an abundance of wildlife including resident sea eagles, kingfishers and bellbirds, and of course, wonderful freshwater fishing.
Nepean River Tours is a freshwater lure fishing specialist, using quality fishing equipment and a custom-built Bass boat. You will be escorted by a local fishing guide, targeting Bass, Mullet, Carp, Herring and more. All equipment is supplied, including a fishing licence and light refreshments and snacks; all you need to bring is a hat and don't forget your camera.
Your guide is Steve Defina, who lives locally and has been fishing locally for many years.

Freshwater Fishing
Set out from the wharf at Tench Reserve, Penrith and head upriver deep into the Nepean Gorge. The most popular tour is half-day (approximately 4.5 hours) at any time that suits you. The custom-built boat allows passage to places where few people, let alone fishing people, get to go. Truly the catching of fish is a bonus as you are in an amazing natural wonderland, with sheer sandstone gorge walls, huge gums, clear clean water, sea eagles flying overhead, and fish leaping from the water - a true hidden treasure. All the equipment you will need is supplied. All you need to bring is a hat and jacket, and your fishing licence for the day is included. Water, drinks and snacks are available on board.

This lunch cruise is well worth doing! The staff are wonderful & very accommodating with making patrons comfortable and welcomed. Although it was 33 degrees outside the aircon kept us all cooled inside with enough viewing windows to see the views. Lunch was delicious with plenty to eat & enjoy while meandering up the Nepean River. Lots of other seacraft to watch going past as well. This is one cruise that I would be happy to do again & well worth it, we travelled from south coast to enjoy this birthday weekend & this cruise topped off the weekend for us! Thankyou again for an enjoyable couple of hours cruise!

Went for a mates birthday party. Old paddle steamer but it was great. Humid day, some more airflow would have been awesome but it's expected. Food was sensational and I had to bug the staff for the Sauteed potato recipee. Skipper lets you in the wheel house for a steer and it was a great overall trip!

Recommended! We did a Sunday lunch cruise with visiting relatives. Great service, yummy comfort food, very relaxing. Only thing that would be an improvement is accessibility, a toilet downstairs would be a huge bonus. Toilets are upstairs and tiny, but that’s the old paddle wheeler, not a criticism of the current operation. The staff are very helpful and will assist wherever they can.

Went on this beautiful boat yesterday with a group of 17 people. It was fabulous. It's a really lovely, well cared for boat with a very friendly and helpful crew who looked after all of us very well. The lunch was delicious & plentiful. The service was efficient & friendly. The relaxing atmosphere was so very enjoyable. We spent several hours slowly cruising the Nepean River and taking in all the sights nature has to offer, whilst wandering around the outdoor decks after lunch. I would highly recommend a trip on the Nepean Belle.

I enjoyed my Birthday Lunch cruise on the fabulous Nepean Belle. I was made welcome the moment I boarded. The lunch served on a share platter was plentiful and delicious . After lunch I was able to walk around the vessel and take photos of the beautiful scenery whilst cruising along the Nepean River ,whilst chatting to fellow passengers . The crew I spoke to during my cruise were very interested when I showed them my small collection of photos from previous cruises. I highly recommend a day out on the Nepean Belle ! Tip : After disembarking ,have your camera ready to take some great pics as the Nepean Belle departs the wharf to return to its dock further down the river.
