Taralga is a unique heritage village 45 kilometres north of Goulburn. The distinctive architectural styles of its historic churches, public and private buildings - from the 1840s to 1890s, mostly built of local stone, is a well preserved example of a pioneering rural town first settled in the earliest days of colonial Australia. It is worth taking an hour or so to visit some of these significant sites.
