CONSTANT HIGHWAY NOISE AND DISMISSIVE MANAGEMENT!!! Writing this review at 3:39am because I can’t sleep due to the constant traffic noise. Very basic for the price. I didn’t realise the motel was right on the Great Western Highway — it’s advertised as Stewart Street — but the traffic noise is constant and you can hear every truck and car passing through the night. I asked about moving to a room further back but was told No, the noise would settle down, which it didn’t, even though the motel wasn’t fully booked. The room was very smelly and felt very tired, with peeling paint in the bathroom. The crockery wasn’t clean, the towels had holes in them and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The pool was also dirty during our stay. You can clearly hear other guests, plumbing noise through the walls and people using taps during the night. I was also overcharged to use the dryer in the laundry. Overall this stay was very disappointing and not what I expected for the price paid. Given the condition of the room and the issues experienced, I would appreciate management contacting me to discuss a refund. The motel advertises that rooms are being updated, however this was not our experience and clearly no evidence of this. Definitely not up to standard. Unfortunately, the worst place I’ve stayed in Bathurst. NEVER AGAIN. REGARDING Ben Chifley Motor Inn RESPONSE; My review reflects my actual experience during the stay. I DO NOT IMAGINE FACTS. Your response is below my standard and your attitude in dealing with this issue is careless, dismissive, patronising, appearing to gaslight female guests by suggesting they are imaging issues which is in extremely poor taste, not an appropriate way to respond to a genuine customer concern. While rooms may be upgraded in some areas, the room we were allocated did not reflect the standard described in your response nor does your response explain the room smell, peeling paint dated bathroom, the unclean pool or excessive traffic noise. I would still welcome management contacting me to discuss the concerns raised.
Lady at reception is lovely. Clean bedding. But the room itself stank of bleach. In looking for powerpoint behind the bedside I found only years of dust coating the wall. The lights on the wall behind the bed didn't work. The fridge was so incredibly tiny and the door shelf was broken. It made an annoying noise all night that sounded like baby birds. The shower looked incredibly gross with scunge on the walls. I had booked based on others reviews saying it was clean. But maybe room 29 was an exception.
Staff were very friendly. Great location. Room neat and tidy. Booked easily with management with very short notice!
Late check in. The office was closed but there is a ring camera with key drop box. Called and was given the code to get our room key. The room is simple but has everything you need and is clean. Good value for your dollar. And great for a night when passing through Bathurst
Very Clean,Great place to stay, had carport to park under for room 1.
