Wouldn’t recommend, and wouldn’t go back. Room was directly above the M1 and you could hear every single car. The apartment itself I wouldn’t consider ‘premium apartment-style hotel accommodation’. There was centimetre gaps in between the doors, and could hear every conversation in the day time from next doors room. The carpark was difficult and dirty. The shower was a bathtub which wasn’t on the photos, it was outdated and dirty. Reception the first night checking in was fantastic but the next day when I had a question about parking I was looked at quite weirdly. The bedroom’s curtain didn’t go all the way across so we were woken up earlier than we liked. The apartments have been renovated, but cheaply. I would rather spend my money elsewhere next time unfortunately.
Great stay at Meriton Suites Waterloo. The hotel makes a great first impression with a modern entrance and a stylish, well-maintained reception area. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The apartment itself was very clean, spacious and well laid out. It had a comfortable living area, dining space and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, cooktop, fridge and coffee machine, which is great for longer stays. The bedrooms were comfortable and the whole apartment felt modern and well maintained. The location is also very convenient. There is secure parking available, and a Coles supermarket and several cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. It’s also relatively close to Sydney CBD, making it a great base to explore the city. Overall, a very pleasant stay and great value for money. I would happily stay here again.
Very poor experience with the reception manager during our stay at Meriton Suites. We booked three nights, but the first room assigned to us had a terrible smell coming from the bathroom — a mix of sewage odor and strong disinfectant smell — which made the room extremely unpleasant. On top of that, the sink was clogged. At first, a friendly staff member kindly agreed to move us to another room and mentioned it would just be on a lower floor, which we were completely fine with. However, the manager then stepped in and insisted they would simply send someone to fix the issue. I explained that a smell like this is not something that can easily be “fixed” within a short time and requested a room change instead. The manager reluctantly agreed, but then had another staff member inform us that there were “only two rooms available,” both with very strange loft-style layouts. We asked to inspect them and quickly realized the layouts were highly impractical and uncomfortable to stay in. It honestly felt like we were being intentionally pushed into accepting the original room. In the end, we had no choice but to stay in the original room temporarily. Someone came to fix the sink, but absolutely nothing was done about the smell. We still could not tolerate the odor from the bathroom. Later, when my partner went back to reception, a different female staff member helped us. She was incredibly kind, professional, and actually cared about resolving the issue. She offered us a renovated room and even allowed us to inspect it first. We finally moved into a much more pleasant room. That said, while the sewage/disinfectant smell was gone, the renovated room had an extremely strong renovation/paint smell that irritated my throat.
A beautiful two bedroom apartment split level we stayed in very clean very spacious. Had two balconies very quiet, Two bathrooms one was a ensuite , kitchen laundry lounge and dining area were all very well maintained. Only thing I didn’t like was that we weren’t told the pool was in another complex which you had to walk on the main street to get to once you got to The pool it was very cold more like a ice bath. I just thought if it was Meriton suites That the pool would be in the same complex instead of walking in the main streets of Waterloo through parks and it would be heated , also had a sauna which one was for men other for ladies, People seem to hog the sauna and didn’t want you coming in if they were there which I felt uncomfortable on many occasions when I didnot go in so I left. Walking all the way back i also felt a bit uncomfortable at night time walking through a park back to the suites because of Where the pool had been situated I thought there was a bit of a turn off. Also you had to walk on the opposite side to get to the gym. Once again it was not in the same complex as in Meriton suites apartment was hated it .
Very pricey for what it is. The apartments are dated and designed/maintained on the cheap side. Our sliding door to the balcony couldn't even close properly, therefore we could hear all the traffic noise. Water in the bathroom didn't drain properly. The furnishings are getting old and worn. Cleanliness wise, it is ok but could do better. Won't be coming back unless it is priced accordingly. No value for the money spent.
