About

Just 90 minutes from Sydney, Ardour Lilianfels Blue Mountains sits high above the Jamison Valley, a short stroll from Echo Point and the Three Sisters lookout. Originally built in 1889 as the grand summer residence of Sir Frederick Darley, the heritage-listed estate has long held a special place in the Blue Mountains, known for its historic character, mountain air and timeless appeal across generations.

Now part of Ardour Hotels & Estates, the property has entered a vibrant new chapter following a multimillion-dollar transformation. The renewed estate honours its late Victorian/early Federation heritage, whilst introducing world-class, contemporary luxury and the newly reopened Èliva Spa.

The property features 91 guest rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to balance heritage character with contemporary luxury. Led by Luchetti Krelle, the new design has drawn inspiration from eccentric English garden estates, enhancing the property's original details and renewing its whimsical personality. Each room features plush bedding, curated furnishings, and premium amenities for a considered, comfortable stay.

Dining at Ardour Lilianfels Blue Mountains is a journey through distinct experiences, from leisurely breakfasts at Orangery Restaurant and elegant high teas in The Lounge to vibrant Southeast Asian flavours at Miss Lilian. For a truly special occasion, Darley's Restaurant showcases innovative cuisine crafted from exceptional local produce, paired with fine wines and served within the grand surrounds of the original Darley residence.

We have been coming to Lilianfels since 2001. Since being bought by the GIC the government of Singapore through some local investment company the hotel has been seriously downgraded. We had 3 rooms of which 2 of the rooms the aircon did not work- turning them into 2 stars and all the little special things like soft sheets gone. Areas with plastic up I guess for some changes The lounge once a prime area to hang out with the family has been stolen by plates set around leaving no where for the family to meet up. The billiard room has been stolen for another function space taking away the 2nd area families could gather and enjoy the property. A chilly evening and finally got one of the 2 fireplaces to work (since they realised we were going to drink champagne and other things they allowed us to stay). The bar drinks obviously made by someone not an experienced bar tender. Tge milk shakes once amazing now seems a cheep ice cream with cheap syrup. We had Dinner at Darleys $275 per person and there was not a person that was experienced waiter serving that could you explain the menu etc- nice room but not even 3 star dining experience- and certainly not what we had come to expect at Darleys. Yes not very happy to see an iconic Sydney venue taken over by an Asian government and not keep the local charm we had come to expect here in the blue mountains. We decided to go outside the hotel to local town Leura for breakfast- best decision we made. So the basic hotel is good but plan your eating and lounging out of the hotel. I suggest you look for a new spot until the hotel is sold to local owners again.
