Tasman Holiday Parks - Kioloa Beach

A great holiday park that ticks all the boxes. Has powered camping areas, low budget cabins and newer deluxe family cabins. (Dog friendly rooms that had enclosed deck area too). Great for multiple families to book together. Has great amenities from 2 pools ( including a kiddies pool) a stroll to the beach, tennis court, washing machine, clean bathrooms and a specific doggy shampoo machine ( had all the flashy cleaning/dryer options - was super impressed), plus plenty of bbq areas and tables. We were lucky to see many kangaroos hanging around too. Overall great location too, with great cafes across the road or 5mins to the shops with IGA grocery store, chemist, bakery and bottle-shop.

Recently stayed in the 2 bedroom lagoon retreat, with my husband and 4 children. Was told I was upgraded to this cabin at no extra …. Little did I realise… The cabin interior, furniture and fixtures were in extreme run down state. The worst I have ever seen EVER. I’m actually really upset we actually stayed. *The patio bbq was so rusted and covered in bird droppings, along with the out door table . *The lagoon was far from what I expected a lagoon to look like, it was more a dirty muddy stinky duck pond. * Top and bottom bunk bed mattress protector was disgusting with marks, hair and bugs, my daughter refused to sleep on it. * The doona covers for the bunks smelt really bad and can tell instantly they haven’t been washed in forever. * only 2 towels were given for the entire cabin. * Main Queen bed, my husband and I itched the first night, he has a rash all over his arms/chest the next morning .. I had to wash the sheets and remake bed for the next night. *Dining table scratched badly and so sticky. Chewing gum stuck all under it. I had to use our beach towels to cover the table to eat off. *The Tv didn’t even fit into the tv unit. It was placed ontop of the unit, which made it sit far too high to watch, leaving a big empty space to look at with no tv. *coffee table was sticky like the dining table and looked like it was collected from a curb . Scratched and in no way presentable. *Found 2 empty packet of chip wrappers until the lounge and dirty tissues down the side of the lounge. *The walls and ceiling look terrible. *The lounge feels like it’s full of sand Whilst I looked around I can see some cabins that look nice and neat looking, with new patio furniture…. I was extremely angry they think this cabin is appropriate to rent out to young family’s in this condition especially at $428 per night. The reception staff on the phone and in person were really nice, upset they told us they “upgraded” us to something better If the weather wasn’t as bad as it was, we wouldn’t have stayed. The cabin and everything in it was terrible. I wish I could have spoken to the park about this, but as I’m not a confrontational person, and my anxiety was through the roof I would have just broken down in tears. Please do better, I’m more upset than angry about this situation now we are home, and highly sitting on whether I turn to head office about the state of this cabin.

Our experience with Tasman Holiday Parks Kioloa Beach was overshadowed, extremely disappointing and unnecessarily stressful, largely due to how our booking and refund were handled by the park manager, Kerry. We were originally booked on an unpowered site at a lower rate. Closer to our stay, we were moved to a powered site and provided all caravan length details at both booking stages. On arrival, we realised the powered site was unsuitable for our caravan and asked to move back to an unpowered site. Naturally This was through no fault of our own and required a refund. Despite this, Kerry refused to honour our original unpowered-site rate, even though that was the booking we held first and the only reason it changed was based on their advice and availability. I had to undertake multiple in-person attempts during our stay, follow-up emails, and phone calls after we left. It took nearly a month to receive the correct refund. We were repeatedly told the remaining amount had to be “escalated to Revenue and Finance” and that Kerry could not adjust it herself. However, it later became clear that the issue could have been resolved immediately, as the final refund was processed simply by adjusting the length of stay - something that could have been done on the spot rather than after weeks of delay. The most unacceptable part was the customer service. During a phone call attempting to resolve the matter, Kerry abruptly ended the call, stating there were people waiting at reception, while I was trying to confirm the refund amount after weeks of chasing. This was dismissive and unprofessional, especially given the time and effort already required to recover money that was rightfully owed. The lack of accountability, misleading explanations about what could be done, and poor communication completely overshadowed what is otherwise a beautiful location. I would think very carefully before booking here, particularly during peak periods, if you expect issues to be resolved fairly, promptly, and with basic courtesy.

We took our camper trailer for our week at kioloa.. the large site was just big enough for our set up. Amenities were kept clean & not far from our camp. Short walk to the beach. Lovely beach with waves to body surf. Dog friendly. Coffee shop/ restaurant with clothes across from the park. Will be happy to return for another stay.
