The Grace Hotel Sydney

Excellent hotel. Just needs a better gym. A lot of work people staying there and it has a tiny gym. But the rooms are massive and the hotel is spotless. Better than some 5 star places. So highly recommend.

Would happily give a 5 star rating as the hotel is really nice. Large comfortable rooms, great showers and a lovely old building. A very enjoyable stay. The sauna was not working which was one of the reasons I booked here, as I enjoy a sauna and you dont find that often in australian hotels, so was disappointed that it was not working. Other than that this was one of the nicest places I have stayed at in sydney.

I gave this hotel 2 stars because, considering the prices they charge, it is simply not worth it. First of all, the rooms are nothing special. We stayed in a Signature Superior King room, and the window didn’t even open. Spending three days without any fresh air was very uncomfortable, especially since the building is only 11 floors high, so this limitation feels unnecessary and unjustified. Secondly, the bathroom was extremely small and impractical. There was no proper counter space for toiletries or beauty products, which made it quite inconvenient. Third, the pool, or should I say, the bathtub. It is jut a bit larger than a regular jacuzzi and obviously it was full of screaming kids diving and splashing without a life guard or any kind of control. It is great to have the possibility to access the pool for kids but the hotel should guarantee that everyone is able to have a comfortable experience, especially if the pool is as big as a bathtub. Fourth, the hotel is marketed as a “historic” building, yet it was built in 1926. I understand that this may be considered old by Australian standards, but as an European, I find this claim rather exaggerated, particularly when it is used as a key selling point to justify such high prices. That said, the staff were very kind and professional, and this review does not reflect my experience with the personnel at all. My criticism is solely about the value for money: at these prices, a much higher standard of comfort and service should be expected.

We stayed at The Grace Sydney while visiting from Melbourne and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is honestly one of the best, close to everything making it so easy to explore the city without needing to travel far. The complimentary drinks offered daily were a lovely touch and made us feel really looked after. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family after a long journey. Parking was also available on site at $65 per day, which was very convenient and stress free for us. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service from Tahreem Aidrus, the duty manager. After a 9 hour drive from Melbourne, she welcomed us with such warmth, kindness, and professionalism. She genuinely made me and my family feel so welcome and completely turned our long, tiring day into a positive and memorable one. She is one of the most beautiful, polite, and amazing workers we have ever come across. Thank you so much. Overall, The Grace Sydney exceeded our expectations, and the outstanding customer service alone is reason enough to return. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sydney.
