Tumut Log Cabins

I've meant to leave this review for a while but time is a bit of a whirlwind! My little family of 3 stayed in Tumut Log Cabin's last year, and it was such a beautiful experience that we are still thinking about it. Firstly, we booked relatively late - all on us - we hadn't expected to be able to get the time off, but suddenly found ourselves with the time to get away. I contacted Doris and Malcolm seeing if we could get 4 very short notice nights, with the idea that we would take our son to his first snow experience at Selwyn (about an hour and a bit drive away). Not only did Doris reply to my email within about an hour, but while they didn't have 4 consecutive nights (as it was *really* short notice!) she offered that we could stay in a deluxe cabin for half our stay, and a standard for the other half - she did what she could to make our quick getaway a reality. We arrived to the most charming cabin imaginable, and the heater had been put on that morning so the room was toasty and welcoming. Doris visited and said on the 2nd day, just to leave our luggage in the room and she would arrange moving it to the other cabin for us - entirely unexpected! The morning we were due to switch cabins, she had a cancellation in the cabin we were due to leave, so she just let us stay in the deluxe the whole time! It was also so handy having woolies a short walk away and all the kitchen facilities were great, it meant we didn't have to eat out all the time! And the cabins are right next to this beautiful, serene river walk. The trip was whirlwind but clearly meant to be - everything about the accommodation was so lovely, and so easily fell into place, we will definitely be back! Thank you Doris and Malcolm.
