Wilga Station

Great long-weekend getaway from Sydney. The Farmer's Hut at Wilga Station is perfectly appointed - tastefully minimalistic with no television or radio but a constantly changing sky and curious sheep passing the awesome picture window throughout the day. So easy to switch off from the city and relax and enjoy. Hamish was a great host and he and Mez have built something special with the Hut and the Shearer's Hall. As third generation owners of Wilga Station, the place is clearly in good hands. Really pleased we made time for a farm tour - the history of the property and the explanations of the sites that are so special to long past and present caretakers of the land really added to our stay.

We had a fabulous weekend family getaway on Wilga Station. We rented the Farmers hut and the Shearer’s Hall together. It’s a perfect place for groups to congregate with a complete kitchen in the Shearer’s hall and your own kitchen garden to raid for fresh veges. The hosts Hamish and Mez are amazing! Very knowledgeable about things to do around Bathurst and Orange and they went out of their way to make our stay memorable. A weekend wasn’t long enough!Next time we will make it a five day stay with 2 nights in the Wool store in town and 3 nights on the farm. Thanks again Hamish and Mez for what you have created on Wilga Station. We will be back!!

Had the pleasure of staying in the Farmers Hut at Wilga Station, Bathurst... what a magical place!! Falling to sleep with a dark star studded sky visible through the massive window, surrounded by a gentle silence, waking up with the view from the same window being lit by the morning sun (with sheep milling around!), was nothing short of spectacular. And, the breakfast prepared by Mez and Hamish was simple, nourishing, and just plain enjoyable! Very keen to get back soon.
