Been here a few times, both in a cabin & our caravan, love it, easy to access, chill enough, lake & pontoon nearby, large clean spacious toilet/shower block (bring own shower toiletries) the check in office has a couple of snacks/icecreams, & great recommendations of where to go for what your after to see/do.Undercover camp kitchen with a fridge! Not much is nearby, 15 mins away for most main shops. There was couple of small ones a few mins down the road. Cons/ early morning the wild birds can be very noisy for light sleepers, even though I love them and the ducks 🦆 but it’s a wake up call & to go checkout the sunrise on the pontoon!
Spent the night there recently, beautiful location, right on the lake with great fishing. Very clean toilets and shower block and good bbq area and picnic tables but a washing up area for cleaning up cookware would be a very welcome addition.
Manager Jo and daughter who works in reception are The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in a holiday/caravan park and I have done a lap of the country staying at over 100 holiday parks. I booked two sites 6 weeks ago under the impression from the website that each site holds 6 people 1 car per site. At no point during the booking process was I asked to add guests. If guest numbers affected pricing, the system shouldn't have allowed the booking to be completed without that step. That would be a booking system issue rather than a customer error. Especially on NYE one of the busiest peak times. I tried explaining this to Jo and her daughter working in the reception and explained how I was not privy to the information and how other guest may be confused also when not aware of this clause which is not stated anywhere in the booking and cancellation policy. Jo was so difficult to deal with and having her daughter in the reception at the time seemed like a conflict of interest to me as the daughter initially seemed to understand my point of the booking issue and even said her self on her end my booking said 6 people on each site as Jo was initially busy when I arrived into the office to discuss this with her. Jo came soon after and that’s when I felt very uncomfortable and misunderstood. Once I left the office I headed out of the campsite to grab some things for our stay. When I returned back my guest told me the manger Jo had come up looking for me as she was going to have staff at another park fired due to me telling her I have stayed in the sister park many times and not had this booking issue. Jo for some reason took this as her job to fire staff from other facility’s. She came to my site while on the phone to the other facility telling my guest “where is Kodie, when did she stay at Swansea park because I’m going to get whoever let her stay there fired” I learned this information when I returned back to the camp site and found a random key on they floor I asked who it belongs too and my guest said it fell out of Jo’s pocket when she came up here looking for me she tripped over one of our swag ropes, I believe it is a cabin key but we didn’t feel comfortable going to the office returning it as Jo intimidated me and my guests. There was also a domestic violence issue with some other patrons of the park at 4.30am on new years morning where the entire park was woken up to fighting and the police arriving some guest were quite traumatised. I expected some duty of care from park staff/ manager to check on guests the next day as it was a very intense situation for others in the park including my group who were camped beside. Not once did management check on people around the incident and I could not contact the office during the emergency as the phone wouldn’t connect, 3 people in the park called the police that I heard and no check ins from anyone working or associated with the park the next day. I am SO disappointed in this park and especially management. The lack of information provided when we asked for more than just a verbal policy off Jo was terrible Jo had no time to explain politely and just kept repeating PAY OR LEAVE. Not understanding we were happy to pay the entire time we were just confused on the online booking process and were trying to rectify it with management.
Camped here for a few days. What's not to like. Great location, clean amenities. Would definitely stay here again.
Jo was an absolute god-send. She was friendly, helpful and knows her stuff! Absolute delight and I really appreciated all her help. What a beautiful atmosphere she creates
