Waterview Motel is a family-owned and family-friendly motel with a seasonal pool, barbecue area, free parking even for longer vehicles. Free WiFi is also available at the Motel.
The rooms vary from a Queen bed, a Queen and single bed, two double beds or a family room which has two rooms, a Queen in the main with three singles in the second room. All have separate bathrooms, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a snack vending machine. All rooms have split system air-conditioning and also have wall fans for your comfort.
The Waterview Motel is a ten-minute walk from the center of town to the shops, cafes and pub, with the Bowling Club not much further. They have a jetty for fishing or tying your boat across the road from the motel on the banks of the Clarence River. The motel is non-smoking but there are designated smoking areas for those that feel the need to smoke. Located on the northern side of the town center they are easy to find.

We love visiting Maclean, it’s a more laid back place to stay and east travel into Yamba, Harwood, Angourie and Illuka. We stayed at the Waterview Maclean and it was great for our family of 5. Right across from the Clarence river and in walking distance to the shops in town. Our room had a smart tv in there with great internet coverage. They had air conditioning, which was on for our arrival. The bathroom had been renovated and was a great size, with a small bar fridge and freezer which was great to re freeze our freezer packs. We received two small milks when we checked in and we had ample tea and coffee packs in our room. Jeremy checked us in and he was lovely. We had towels supplied and built in body wash and shampoo. There was plenty of toilet paper and extra blankets for a cold night. The motel had a pool, which we used and it was a great addition. It also had various EV chargers for people who had EV’s. The only thing was that I am a very light sleeper and I should have packed my ear plugs but I didn’t and so I could hear all of the sounds through the next room and all of the noises and wind outside. Overall, that’s more something I would account for next time but would stay there again for sure.

It may apparently only be 3 star but the friendly hospitality was out of the norm. So friendly, so resourceful and more than happy to help in ANY way possible. The staffs enthusiasm of the Maclean area was infectious - suggesting sights, walks and venues -even showing me things on the different maps he handed me. So welcoming and even the drink/snack machine was not inflated. The room met my every need with a variety of different seating options: lounge, breakfast bar, arm chairs, comfy bed and balcony table setting looking at the beautiful river. They also have a jetty on the river to sit and drink in the beauty of this place. Equipped with tea, coffee, bickies and fresh milk;air con and fan and ensuite. I will stay here again and a brilliant option for travellers, families and weary drivers. Thank you so much Waterview motel for such a welcoming and comfortable stay.

Friendly staff, clean rooms 🌞 We had a great experience at the Waterview Hotel. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly large. Plenty of hot water. The location is good too —Maclean is a charming little town and not far from Yamba. One interesting fact - after chatting with the manager, I learned the motel generates more solar powered energy than it uses. If you’re driving an EV, you can even charge your car there (though I’m not sure about the cost). I’ll definitely be stopping by again on my next drive from Queensland to Sydney—hopefully in my new EV! 🤞

One of the best motels we have stayed in. The family room was spacious, clean and modern. I loved the paintings on the wall! The single beds for the kids and a king for parents. Perfect. Thank you ❤️

Very friendly and helpful. Older room and bathroom. Clean with decent sized fridge and freezer, vert useful when traveling. Less than 10 minutes ( flat) walk to town, Even had chargers for EV’s
