Wine Country Retreat is a 60-minute drive from Newcastle, only a few minutes off the Hunter Expressway and just 2-hours from Sydney.
Their rustic, lodge-style accommodation has 16 renovated rooms, each offering a private ensuite, comfortable bedding, A/C heating/cooling, a car park and deck. With flexible bedding configurations, they can accommodate up to 40 people.
Facilities include a fully licenced bar and lounge with a great selection of books, puzzles and games, a 20-metre outdoor magnesium pool, weight room, cedarwood wet sauna, tyre swing as well as fire pit and complementary car parking.
Make friends with the friendly furry/feathered rescue animals, living at the property, toast marshmallows by the fire or test yourself on the retro Space Invaders machine. Grab a book and chill out on the hammock - so much to do - or do nothing much at all!
The flexible meeting space is perfect for corporate groups, and includes AV equipment, large-screen smart TVs, ceiling-mounted digital projector and screen, whiteboard, Sono speakers and complimentary Wi-Fi. Social groups have a choice of scenic spots to hold their event or gathering on the grounds and the 60-seat dining room or 20x15 metre permanent floor for a marquee is ideal for a wedding reception or larger gathering.

I came here with 7 mates to play golf. Andy and Danielle were very accommodating and we had an amazing time. The pool and sauna were regularly used and breakfast was superb every day. Andy cooked us steaks and ribs on our final night too. The mini horse (Tim Tam) and the goats, dogs, pigs and kangaroos add to the atmosphere. It’s a laid-back friendly place. Great for a group of people!

Many thanks to Danielle and the team at the “Wine country Retreat”. I was one of the organisers of a 40th school reunion, held last weekend, we had about 40 attend. The wine country retreat was ideal. They blocked out any other bookings so we had the place to ourselves ( which was courteous to us, as well as considerate to other guests that would otherwise have come). The managers were very flexible and worked with us to make sure the whole weekend worked out. The service staff are so kind and friendly, and the relaxed breakfasts out on the deck were a standout. We have only had very positive feedback from our attendees, who are already asking to start planning the next reunion here as well!

Had our 40 year high school reunion at Wine Country Retreat at Hunter Valley. It was absolutely fantastic. Was the best getaway for the weekend. Facilities accommodation and hospitality was perfect. Very friendly and accommodating host and hostess and great food for breakfast and dinner. Great facilities to hold a bbq and terrific getaway from the city hustle and bustle. Accommodation was terrific as well.

Wine Country Retreat (NSW) is a peaceful, welcoming escape surrounded by beautiful vineyard views. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the staff warm and attentive, and the atmosphere perfect. A wonderful weekend retreat for those looking to relax or reunite with school friends, much like our own visit.
