Acre of Roses is a working bio-dynamic micro-farm of heritage roses in the heart of the Trentham hamlet, only an hour from Melbourne that offers two beautifully-appointed cottages set amongst enchanting gardens.

The Miner's Cottage offers luxury wellness accommodation and sensory experiences designed to help you escape from everyday stresses. Here you can relax and rejuvenate; indulge; play or discover all that Trentham and surrounds offer.

Built in the early 1860s, the Miner's Cottage is a private self-contained restorative sanctuary for a country escape, or a centrally located base from which to explore all the beautiful region has to offer. There is a gourmet Kitchen and the Bathroom has a clawfoot bath and Steam Shower Room. The potager gardens provide seasonal, naturally grown produce for your use throughout your stay. The rainwater filled cedar hot tub provides relaxation the natural way, using minerals for purity. The theater room can be used for entertaining, meditating or just chilling out watching a movie on the cinema screen.

The Potting Shed offers a unique garden studio experience connected to nature which is also dog-friendly, has an outdoor clawfoot bath on a raised deck under the canopy of trees and can be booked separately from the Miners Cottage (sleeps two).

The Chinoiserie and The Fornasetti Rooms

The Miner's Cottage has two rooms to choose from when booking. Chinoiserie - So-named for its delicate furnishings and Asian influences, the Chinoiserie Room features a queen size bed and French doors to a private verandah sitting area. Fornasetti - So-named for the Italian Fornasetti feature wall mural, this room contains a King size bed that can be split into two if required. French doors open to a verandah and swing chair. Both rooms include panel heating, an electric blanket or hot water bottle, and to keep cosy there are cashmere bed socks and bathrobes for your private use during your stay.

The Potting Shed

Follow the garden path at Acre of Roses to discover 'The Potting Shed'. Here, the rustic 2-person secluded garden potting shed-inspired design imbibes a feeling of days gone by, yet rest assured that all creature comforts are discretely included to ensure a luxury stay. With a garden theme, brought together by interior designer Belle Hemming, the space is perfect for creative inspiration. Curl up on the vintage wing-backed chairs under the glass bell tower and paint, draw, read, write or daydream. Or, open up the French doors and relax outside as you overlook the kitchen potager garden, experiencing all with your favourite companion at your side. This studio-style self-contained space features a Queen bed, kitchenette with convection microwave oven, small fridge, commercial coffee machine, dishwasher, Ilve BBQ, a Netflix connected TV, WiFi, a bathroom with a gentle copper rain shower head and a genuine pot belly and air conditioning unit. A complimentary continental breakfast is included with an abundance of seasonal produce picked fresh the kitchen potager garden. Adults only. Dogs are welcome, just let us know at time of booking.
