The Hume and Hovell Track is a 426-kilometre walking track stretching across South-Eastern NSW from Cooma Cottage in Yass to the Hovell Tree in Albury and passing through the regions of Wee Jasper, Tumut, Tumbarumba and Woomargama.
The long-distance track traverses bushland, single track, farmland, forest fire trails and quiet country roads, following the historic 1824 expedition route of the two explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell.
The fully signposted track crosses more than 100 footbridges and boardwalks, and runs along rivers' edges and through cool-climate forests, with numerous campsites along the trail.
Walk the track in one go, plan an overnight camping trip, and complete short walks or sections as life allows.
See the Hume & Hovell Track website and trip planner for further details.
Large open camping areas, toilets and barbecue, good creek walks, well maintained by Tumbarumba council
Nice, grassy, level ground. Heaps of different birds. Creek shallow but nice for cooling off in. Close to town and Paddy's River Falls. Can camp both sides of the creek. Track head for hume and hovell walk.
This place is one of your access points for the Hume and Hovell Trail when you are in the Tumbarumba area. There are toilets, barbecue shelters and plenty of open spaces. People use either side of the creek to camp. Fires should be contained in a fire bucket and not be on the ground. It is worth finding your camping spot early in the day and by nightfall there may be lots of campers.
My go to when in the Tumbarumba region! 10km from town! Easy ride into town and a beautiful spot to camp for the night, toilet blocks on site along with plenty of camping areas. Also has a beautiful creek running through the camp ground!
Great spot for a van or a tent weekend, clean toilets and bbq, not far from Tumbarumba, highly recommend it.
