It's a great way to not only get a feel for Melbourne but also experience the city from a unique perspective. After setting off from the Docklands and getting acquainted with your kayak, you'll stop for a unique on-water dining experience of tasty fish and chips aboard your kayak. You will then paddle your way upstream under the Bolte Bridge and through to Melbourne's lively downtown. As Melbourne lights up you will kayak past Crown Casino and stylish Southbank. Paddle by iconic Flinders Street Station and beneath the historic Princes Bridge en route to Melbourne's sporting precinct, home to the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Rod Laver Arena, before returning to Southgate, where your tour will end.

Kayak Melbourne shows you a stunning way to check out all major iconic sights of Melbourne from a unique water-level perspective. After a quick briefing and paddling lesson, participants will get kitted up and head downriver under the Princes Bridge and into the heart of Melbourne. The tour will continue along the Yarra River past Flinders Station and up to the iconic Polly Woodside Tallship at South Wharf before entering the Docklands precinct and the beautiful Yarra's Edge Marina. After a short break the paddlers then head back upstream past Crown Casino and the lively South Bank district before finishing back at Boathouse Drive. This tour is an appropriate length for younger paddlers who can team up with Mum or Dad or one of the guides. With a fleet of extremely stable Sea Bear sea kayaks, the experience will be even easier for first-time paddlers.

Amazing experience kayaking on the Yarra river!! Gus our tour guide was fantastic. He shared wonderful stories and information about the Yarra River and the surrounding buildings. Views were epic and dinner was good. My only feedback is I feel this might be too challenging for someone with zero experience kayaking. We did do a dry run and practice but unfortunately the person I was paired with haven’t kayaked before and she really struggled. On hindsight, I feel she would benefit from a longer, more thorough practice on land. It felt like I was kayaking for both of us at the start so it got abit tiring but overall it was a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend it.
