Mantra on Little Bourke

Booked a One-Bedroom Deluxe Apartment for 7 nights. The biggest highlight is definitely the location—super convenient and close to everything in the city, which made getting around really easy. Some of the staff were also polite and accommodating, which we appreciated. On the downside - housekeeping services need improvement. Our room was expected to be cleaned daily with a full housekeeping service (which was part of our room rate), but there were multiple instances where only the bed sheets were fixed and towels were changed, while the floor was left dirty. This level of cleaning falls short of expectations. When I raised this concern with the front desk, I was told that a “light housekeeping” may have been done instead of a “full housekeeping.” However, this was not clearly communicated beforehand and does not justify the inconsistent standards. Additionally, the towels provided are already quite worn out and would benefit from being refreshed or replaced. There is a need for more consistent and thorough cleaning, as well as better upkeep of basic room amenities. Overall, the hotel experience has a lot of potential and could be greatly improved for future guests. One key area for improvement would be reinforcing proper housekeeping practices—ensuring that basic room amenities are well-maintained and that cleaning is done consistently and thoroughly each day. If the room rate includes full housekeeping, this standard should be properly followed. With more attention to these details, the overall guest experience would be significantly better, especially given the hotel’s great location.

Great location, walking distance to CBD I suspect this is the reason most people stay here. Positives are a super fast lift to each floor we never waited more than 3 seconds , great staff reception team excellent they work really hard and do a great job. The breakfast restaurant does a fresh/tasty and curated choice for a buffet ( same every day but excellent quality so it gets away with this) beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant very comfortable place to dine and enjoy the passing people and movement. Staff at the restaurant also excellent, loved the daily newspaper to flick through whilst dining. Apartments spacious really huge so loads of room to unpack and use. Bathrobes appreciated. The negatives are bigger issues that this property cannot easily solve- the apartments in the building are individually owned and leased back to MANTRA and this becomes clear when you look closely at the lack of care and maintenance of the corridors and public areas that need painting, carpeting and decorating, also the apartments whilst huge need carpet,paint, new tv's , cleaner sofas, a refreshed kitchen. The apartments will only be as clean as the time the staff are given to clean them, not enough time means they are tidy not spotless which is not ok especially with kitchens. The washer/dryer is unusable we are not stupid people, we researched the operating manual and the cycles take hours terrible choice.Not offering apartment servicing is unacceptable and poor reception has to handle these enquiries. We would not stay again based on this truth. There have been several reviews about the fire alarms and this happened during our stay as well. As we have travelled around Australia and the world we notice that apartments/hotels have a sign in kitchens and tell guests on arrival that if there is careless/or misuse of the kitchen that results in a fire alarm that the guest will pay for the fire brigade to attend and a fine. It is simply unacceptable to mis manage an evacuation on a regular basis without changing what you do.

The hotel was in the perfect location; our room upgrade was greatly apricated. The best part of the stay were the staff. From the minute we arrived the reception team where so informative and welcoming. The bar staff, Dakota I believe, was so engaging and hospitable. Will not even look at staying anywhere esle in Melbourne. Thank you

This hotel was incredible, staff were so lovely and very helpful. The rooms were very spacious, clean and beds comfortable. Buffet breakfast was also amazing, great selection of foods. Our stay was very pleasant. They had a portacot and highchair for us on arrival as we have a 1 year old. Only downfall was our room had very minimal natural light which meant we needed the lights on all the time which was a bummer
