Visiting the Split Point Lighthouse — better known to many as the Round the Twist lighthouse — was such a great experience. The lighthouse is well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the show, which made it even more special.
The climb to the top takes around 5–10 minutes depending on how busy it is, and you’ll probably want to spend another 10–15 minutes up there soaking in the views. Its absolutely stunning. We were lucky it was overcast — not too sunny, rainy or windy — which made it really comfortable to enjoy the scenery.
A couple of helpful things to keep in mind: they close the doors at 3:30pm so they can wrap up by 4pm, so plan your visit accordingly.
There aren’t any public toilets nearby, which meant we didn’t explore the outside area at all. A bit annoyed after driving there for almost 3hrs.
Also, the narrow staircase climb may not be ideal for elderly visitors or very young children.
Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to visit, especially if you’re a fan of the show or just love a good coastal view.

We visited the Split Point Lighthouse and the surrounding areas. Lovely scenic views of the sea. We arrived after 4pm closing of the lighthouse so we couldn’t climb up. You can stroll right to end and admire the sea views. A nice place to stop and stretch your legs or to admire the scenery.

We visited Split Point Lighthouse and the area around it is really beautiful, with great ocean views. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go up to the top because it was very windy that day. The staff member explaining this came across as a little rude, but it may have just been a communication or cultural difference since we were visiting from the USA and not locals. Overall, it’s still a nice place to stop and worth visiting for the scenery and photos.

What a terrific experience not only for the adults but also for the kids!
The staff at the bottom and the top of the lighthouse were full of information, and we were really impressed how they included and engaged with the kids.
We had terrific weather, so the view from the top was breathtaking! It's definitely worth the 130+ stair climb!
Back down on the ground, there are a couple of lookouts that are again worth the walk. We were lucky enough to see a seal enjoying the water while we were there.
If you're on the great ocean road, this is a must to add to your list!
