About

Voted Australia's 12th best beach in 2012, Thompson's Beach is a Murray River highlight.

Towering river red gums, a white sandy beach and evening floodlights make this the perfect spot to relax and hang out with friends and family from dawn till after dusk. Families, anglers and kayakers mingle along this long, gentle bend in the river.

On the eastern edge of Cobram, and just a couple of minutes' drive from Barooga, the largest inland beach in the Southern Hemisphere is set in a beautiful location on the Murray River. Thompson's Beach has electric barbecues, a playground, and hosts plenty of activities like swimming, trail walking, beach cricket, volleyball, canoeing and fishing. If you are feeling extra fancy, you can even dine at the popular Beach cafe. That caters for any needs

Despite its popularity, Thompson's Beach is large enough to never feel crowded. Whether you are a local or a visitor, you will have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your river beach experience.
