Owned and operated by former Professional World Tour surfer Amee Donohoe, Central Coast Surf Academy offers elite tuition to all levels of surfers from beginner to elite, whatever your goals may be, fun or competitive training they can help you reach your maximum surfing potential.
Their coaches are Surfing Australia accredited coaches fully qualified in surf rescue and advanced First aid and CPR.
They run all types of lessons from complete beginners through to elite and high-performance surfing. Their lessons cater for children through to adults, and they guarantee you won't leave the water without a smile on your face! Their professional coaching staff ensure ocean theory and surf safety are covered in all lessons to ensure participants have a well-rounded education of the ocean, as well as being taught the skills to surf!
CCSA operate at multiple locations and beaches across the central coast from Avoca Beach, Terrigal, Macmasters Beach, Copacobana, Ocean Beach, Wamberal and Shelly Beach.

Learn to Surf
CCSA learn to surf classes are operated by the most qualified and professional surfers on the coast. They offer an elite level tuition. Their programs are a fun packed experience offering a great way to build confidence in the water and meet new friends. All sessions focus on ocean safety, beach awareness and all the skills needed to learn to surf. All classes are broken down into small groups and are level specific.

I only did one lesson with these guys and although the instructors were lovely to speak to, unfortunately the experience felt unsafe and poorly managed from start to finish. Despite the conditions clearly being too rough, complete beginners were taken straight out into a strong current, high tides and big swells. Ive done lessons elsewhere and the safety briefings are usually a lot more thorough and more time is spent going through technique on the shore. Everyone was constantly crashing into each other because there was no clear instruction to keep things organised. Overall, the session didn’t set any of us up for success and not a single person caught a wave.

I was a complete beginner and took 2 lessons on consecutive days, one with Penny and the next with Ethan. Both were excellent and i had a great experience. Ethan particularly gave me some great tips which helped me catching waves and wanting more!

My first ever experience popping up on a board was with CCSA! The instructor was patient and clear with information, answered my many questions and helped me feel comfortable in the water. Highly recommend for adults and kids learning to surf! They also have some amazing programs to progress Kids and Adults which I have heard great things about.

My kids had a great time with CCSA. Instructor Indy was great, she gave clear simple instructions, shared lots of knowledge and was a lot of fun! Admin staff were very flexible regarding rescheduling due to bad weather.

Simply the best outfit on the central coast, can’t recommend them enough. I started out as a 50 year old beginner from the country with shot shoulders, CCSA got me catching waves and going out on my own for some fun ones. Shout out to Brett Gibson who’s taking me to next level now. Check out the holiday camps too, our 7 year old has a blast!
