Abergail Farm | Highland Cow Experiences

Our visit to Bon Rean Highlands Farm was such a beautiful, wholesome experience from start to finish. We were greeted upon arrival by the two resident farm dogs, who were incredibly affectionate yet so gentle especially around the kids, which instantly set the tone for the day. The family who run the farm are genuinely warm and welcoming, creating a space that feels calm, caring, and thoughtfully put together. The animals are clearly very well cared for and have such friendly, relaxed temperaments. It made interacting with them feel really special and easy, even for little ones. Bread is provided for feeding, but we loved that you can also bring along your own apples, carrots, and greens for the cows, donkeys, and pigs…it adds to the whole experience. After spending time with the animals, we felt completely recharged. It’s one of those places that just slows you down in the best way. The little gift shop is also worth a visit the honey is incredible (and antibiotic-free), and the local tallow products were beautiful as well. To top it all off, our kids had space to play and just hang out afterwards, which made the day feel even more relaxed and unhurried. Such a special spot and we’ll definitely be back.

We had the best morning! So organised and the cows, pigs and In particular Trixie the donkey was amazing. Honestly wish I could've taken them home! Thanks for your amazing hospitality and excited to have purchased the honey!! It was a great day not just for kids but also adults. Definitely will come back.

Bon Rean Highlands is an absolute gem for animal lovers! This family-run farm is home to adorable Highland cows, a friendly donkey, playful pigs, and the sweetest golden retrievers, Molly and Max (be ready to be barked at for endless smiley pats!) We loved how hands-on the experience was....there was plenty of bread for feeding the cows, ample time to spend with the animals, and even a tractor ride! The highlight for us was a one-on-one meeting with Benji, the one-week-old Highland calf 🥹. The small farm store is perfect for picking up locally made honey, souvenirs, and other goodies. Every staff member we met was warm and welcoming, making the visit feel personal and special. If you love animals and a relaxed farm experience, Bon Rean Highlands is the place to be!

We were gifted a voucher to visit Bon Rean. It was the perfect family outing (kids aged 2 & 5). We took apples and carrots to feed the animals. We were also given bread and green food scraps. Finished off the visit with a tractor ride. The kids loved it and didn’t want to leave.
