The National Parks and Wildlife Service Discovery Program offers immersive guided experiences that connect visitors with the natural, historic and Aboriginal cultural heritage of the Shoalhaven area.

Operating across destinations including Fitzroy Falls, Jervis Bay and the Murramarang area, the Discovery Program delivers guided walks, Aboriginal Discovery experiences, cultural activities, junior ranger adventures, traditional weaving workshops, school excursions, holiday programs and community events.

Led by experienced Discovery guides, visitors can discover spectacular waterfalls, coastal forests, white sand beaches and bushland while learning about local wildlife, conservation, Aboriginal culture and the stories that have shaped these landscapes. Hands-on activities and meaningful connections to place create memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.

Visitors can explore the dramatic escarpment views of Fitzroy Falls, discover the coastal landscapes and cultural heritage of Jervis Bay, learn traditional weaving skills, take part in junior ranger adventures and enjoy nature-based family activities along the Shoalhaven coast. Discovery Program experiences inspire people to enjoy, understand and help protect the Shoalhaven area's unique natural and cultural heritage.

Kids can become junior rangers at Pretty Beach in Murramarang National Park these school holidays. They'll experience hands-on learning about nature and the important role rangers play in South Coast national parks. There are kids' activities to engage every kind of little outdoorsperson during this 2-hour beachside tour. Start with a scavenger hunt and mind-stretching clues to learn about Australia's fascinating environments. Then get creative and design a piece of nature art using beach and bush materials. Gain new skills, learn about native animals and get up close to nature while exploring the sand dunes and coastal bush habitat at Pretty Beach. It's a perfect morning in the outdoors for kids aged 5 to 16.

Looking for South Coast kids' activities these school holidays? Join a kite-building workshop at Depot Beach campground in Murramarang National Park. Creative kids will love building and decorating their own kite in the stunning surrounds of Depot Beach campground. While crafting, your guides will share stories about kites, sugar gliders, flying foxes and other forest flyers. Then let your kite soar over the golden sands of Depot Beach or beside the campground gums. All material will be supplied on the day.
