Home of The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, Australia Zoo is one hour north of Brisbane on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. There’s fun for the whole family as the most interactive conservation destination on the planet!

Pat a koala, feed gorgeous kangaroos, and say hi to some scaly friends as you walk in! Don’t miss the African savannah and Southeast Asian habitats, with an electric shuttle to take you around the Zoo.

How about you pop over to Bindi’s Island and explore alongside ring-tailed lemurs? Or watch the kids have a ball cooling off in the Laughing Frog Waterpark.

Get ready for some serious wildlife action during the Wildlife Warriors Show every afternoon! Come on a journey of discovery and adventure with the giant snakes, colourful birds and prehistoric crocs in the world-famous Crocoseum.

Want to get closer to your favourite animals? Book an encounter and you might get to feed them their favourite snacks, give them a little pat, or have them climb on your shoulder (the meerkats are cheeky little girls).

We had an EXTRAORDINARY day at the Australia Zoo. We arrived for opening and we were there right until closing, catching a sneak peak of the hospital just before we left. It was school holidays, so things were busy, but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of the visit. We were consistent impressed with the large habitats and the knowledgeable and passionate keepers we met along the way. Only 110 of the 750 acres are available for public viewing - telling you how much more space is allocated for animals and animal care. The wildlife warriors show featured Terri and Bindi, which was a huge perk. Asks Graham the croc was terrifying and impressive. Other highlights were the giraffe feeding we booked, watching the red pandas and tigers, and patting koalas and feeding the kangaroos. We easily could have enjoyed a second day in order to see more of the other keeper talks we didn’t have time for. The only thing we missed was lunch - too busy enjoying the animals to set aside time to eat. Should have brought more snacks with us so we could eat on the go. One of our absolute highlights of our visit to Australia.
