Because some getaways should be as memorable as the destination itself.

Barrel View has three exclusive Wine Barrel accommodations on the property. Each barrel is uniquely named after the regions Strangebird Wine Varieties - Saperavi, Tempranillo and Barbera. Whilst all similar in furnishings, each barrel has its own uniqueness and subtle differences to make each stay perfect. Luxurious The barrels are stylishly designed with luxuries for the most comfortable stay, including snuggle robes, slippers, king-size bed, a coffee machine and never-ending views through our giant glass windows. Each barrel accommodates a maximum of two adults. This is an adult-only accommodation.
i would have liked some sort of contact with the owners/people in charge at check in as i felt a bit “out in the wild alone” with no contact at all. besides that it was amazingly quiet, peaceful, & stunning location. very nice, clean, comfortable room and concept, but not “luxurious” in the sense that we had to cook/clean for ourselves. perfect if you just want complete solitude and tranquility.
Firstly let me say the concept here is great…the room itself was good but considering the price tag it should have been better. We came away for the privacy and seclusion and unfortunately barrel view has missed the mark here. The Barrels are extremely close to each other and not separated very well for privacy, the barrels are not fenced off from each other at all, we expected to be able to cook at our own cabin not use a ‘communal’ bbq area like a caravan park that also had no heating at all. We tried to cook there one night but it was freezing cold as there is no protection and the wind howls through the area and there is no heater in the area either which seems crazy. Almost makes it unusable during winter. Same goes for the little fire pit that is about 100 mtrs from the cabin. If I wanted to use communal facilities we would have paid a fraction of the price and stayed at a caravan park. Also there is no seating available around the fire pit anyway. On our second day the owner was hovering around as well which was not ideal and as we were the only people there at the time and she didn’t restock anything it seemed completely unnecessary and a bit invasive as like I said the idea of these places is for the privacy. The other issue we had was that only 1 cabin had an outdoor bath but the others didn’t even have an indoor tub. Having a soak when you are away relaxing to me is a given. The nice little back patio with table and chairs is almost unusable as there is no outdoor heater. On our second night as we were the only people there we moved the little fire pit up to the back of our cabin , off the patio so we could actually sit outside and have a romantic evening with a fire, the fire was always under control and put out at the end of the night and in my opinion it was safer to have it up there than the designated area surrounded by dead and dry foliage that could have caught fire easily. However we were told that was not ok and had to put it back but couldn’t use it as there was no more firestarters provided which was quite disappointing as it was just another amenity that couldn’t be used. Also, the skylight directly above the bed is a terrible idea ! Supplying facemasks does not change this, having light blare down on your face in the middle of the night is beyond ridiculous. Hopefully the owners take this on board and fix up these missing pieces to justify the price tag for the accommodation as I don’t think it’s reasonable to charge a premium rate when you don’t get the premium product.
We had a beautiful weekend at the unique barrels, everything was so luxurious and attention to detail was spot on. Very responsive to messages. Also as part of our luxury escapes package we had 4 bottles of wine which ended up being white which we didn’t drink they came out and swapped out 2 for reds which were delicious..thanks again. Would recommend highly
I booked Barrel View as a surprise gift for my partners birthday . I had planned all sorts of local activities to attend but he did NOT want to leave. The view was stunning. Very quiet. The bed was amazing. My partner cooked for us at the large outdoor shared kitchen space that had every single thing we needed. Highly recommend. Communication was supreme for an easy check in and out.
Loved our barrel! Stunning view, super clean and comfy, total privacy (we didn't see another soul while we were there), nice breakfast hamper. The bathroom and soaps felt luxurious. Bed and pillows very nice. Saw some roos while we were watching the meteor shower overnight on the patio. The light from the car park area puts a bit of a damper on stargazing if you're into that, but we could have moved further away if we weren't so lazy. The avo toast hamper was fresh and tasty (avos perfectly ripe); a bit more protein in there would make it even more amazing
