Great facility! Modern comfortable clean and appropriate for conventions and conferences. The one thing I think they don’t do very well is food. I have had lots of experience at catered functions such as conferences awards nights and other functions and I’d have to say that the food was not anywhere near up to scratch. Our function, they were only catering for around 400 people. I’ve been to functions where they’ve catered for 600 800 people and the food has been on point. We had prawns that were tasteless for an entree and lamb that was dry and hard that it clearly been plated and left for some time before it was brought to the tables. The service was generally great however there was one issue with Service as well. When the deserts and cheese platter was being brought to our tables, the Plate of desert was dumped in front of one of the 10 people at the table right in front of her, The cheese platter was dumped in front of another person right in front of them where their dinner plate would normally be put. These people found it quite confusing at first thinking it was their desert. It made for a very uncomfortable situation. As the person who had the desert put in front of them began eating the little desserts thinking it was theirs. So a bit of lack of service towards the end of the night.

Was at the Cairns Convention Centre for Guy Sebastian and had a fantastic time. Everything was easy - getting through security/ checking in to finding out seats. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food and drinks available were great.

Extremely impressed with the convention centre. The accoustics are excellent. First time I've ever been the the centre. Crowded House Oct 8th 2025. Was sensational 💜

Wet night in Cairns for the Taipans game and some power tripping manager decides a policy whereby umbrellas are now prohibited from the convention center is a good idea. We live in a tropical city. I mean if they had a cloaking service or some other arrangement so I could get my umbrella back again I am sure it could work but this is a joke.
