Rows of red rich soil, green macadamia trees dotting the horizon "hedges" of sugarcane along the roadside and a main street with history and heritage oozing out of its facades - history, heritage, arts, culture, food and wine is all here in Childers. There is plenty to check out if you are in Childers with the family, a snake and reptile park, art gallery, library and the restored 1920's Paragon Theatre has a schedule of movies and events. Head to the Palace memorial which is a touching tribute to those who lost their lives.
