Turtle Hatching on Heron Island
Heron Island is a National Marine Park situated in the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. This area is a significant nesting location for two threatened sea turtle species, the Green Turtle and the Loggerhead Turtle. Our tour to Heron Island is in the height of baby Green and Loggerhead Turtle hatching season. During hatching season, turtle hatchlings will erupt from their nests between 25 to 50 metres from shore and make their way to the reef, just beyond the water's edge. Heron Island is a true coral cay and is ribboned by white sands, crystal clear waters and acres of coral with beautifully coloured marine life. The emphasis is on enjoying natural beauty. Stress is replaced by adventure, and your days are filled with discovery.

We have just returned from an 8 day tour of Alice Springs, West McDonnell ranges and Uluru with Fun Over Fifty holidays. Wow! What a great holiday. Firstly we don't know why we left it so long to visit the Northern Territory. It was simply stunning. The colours of the outback were vibrant and overwhelming. In relation to the tour itself, we couldn't speak highly enough. The booking process and administration of all tickets and tour information was seamless. The tour was well organised by our warm, caring and funny tour host, 'Arcadia'. Our tour guide was 'Tony', and he was well informed with lots of interesting stories and historical facts for us to digest. He also drove our bus, and he was an exceptional driver. We have never felt safer. The accommodation was outstanding and the tour was well paced with loads of tour inclusions i.e. local museums, lunch at large cattle stations, camel and helicopter rides, Field of Lights, and of course all of the natural wonders that the NT is famous for. The meals were great and I was well catered for due to my special dietary requirements. We travelled in a group of 26 mature people and everyone joined in and got along really well. There was a lot of laughs and fun. We will certainly travel with Fun Over 50 Holidays again!

My wife and I just completed the Darwin, Kakadu, the Kimberley’s & Broome. This comprehensive tour by a gold class bus. Was very enjoyable- with us only spending money on souvenirs and alcohol at night. The bus was incredibly comfortable, with usb power at every row, big tinted windows and leather seats. Everyday we had a different seat (same seat partners) so everyone enjoyed the views (there were no bad seats anyway) and new people around us, this meant that we quickly got to know everyone on the bus. The provided meals (the brochure list breakfast , lunch and dinner) but we had morning and afternoon tea everyday with fresh brewed coffee, biscuits/ cakes . Our tour was helped by fun over 50’s guest program that requests a list of favourite songs, that we played along the way. The pace was great with the couple of long days on the bus, broken up our tour guide (Vikki) playing a variety of games, from guess the slang expression or a variation of the “top 100” Our driver (Andrew)had incredible skills not only managing the bus around some tight areas but also spotting wildlife and birds along the sides of the road. Between the two of them we kept in schedule, visited every item on the itinerary (and a few that weren’t). The included tours by boat were great we saw lots of crocodiles, bird life, the local guides were knowledgeable, and had great personalities, able to make us laugh as we watched for wildlife. For us the highlight was the Kimberley gorge sunset dinner, due to the recent floods only one area was open, but the food was incredible and of a very high restaurant standard, a truly memorable dinner in some of Australia’s most beautiful landscape. Given our trip was the first of the season and the incredible rains the area had received over the last few months, some things (such as swimming in a particular waterfall plunge pool) were unavailable, due to safety concerns (crocodiles and damaged infrastructure) but Vikki and Andrew had a plan B (sometimes C) and we quickly found ourselves at another area relaxing in the warm waters) We can only recommend this trip and the company very highly and we will travel with them again, and will encourage our friends to travel with them as well

I recently completed my first Over 50s Coach Tour to Noosa Everglades and Great Keppel Island this June, and it was a fantastic experience the glamping accomodation was beyond my expectations . The trip was very well organised from start to finish, making it easy to relax and enjoy every moment. The tour offered wonderful cultural experiences with a great mix of sightseeing, learning, and meeting new people. A special thank you to Michelle and Simon, whose professionalism, knowledge, and friendly nature made the trip even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and well looked after. As a first-time coach tour traveller, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. We have just finished our first tour with Fun Over Fifty - Outback Queensland Gulf and Savannah Safari. It exceeded our expectations. Firstly our hosts - Chips and Leanne - were amazing. Always happy, helpful, funny, organised and professional. Days on the road will come up with surprises, but they worked as a team and found solutions. They deserve 11/10! We got to do tours and see sights others miss when you aren’t in a group of just 20 guests. The Diamond Coach was very roomy and comfortable. Our accommodation matched our locations, some resort glamping in Longreach to a town like Karumba that needs tourism to survive. Everywhere, without exception, the food was delicious and large serving. This won’t be our last Fun Over 50 holiday.

The Fun Over 50s Stanthorpe Apple & Grape Festival tour and it was a fantastic few days. Everything was well organised and the itinerary had a great mix of interesting stops — the saddlery workshop, wineries, bush poets breakfast, strawberry picking, the festival parade and even the Rabbit Works Museum, which turned out to be surprisingly fascinating. A big thank you to tour manager Neil and driver Mike, who made the trip relaxed, fun and very welcoming. Within a day the whole coach was chatting and laughing like old friends. Accommodation and meals were good country hospitality, and the weather couldn’t have been better — sunny days and cool Granite Belt evenings. If you enjoy relaxed travel, good company, wine tasting and a few laughs along the way, this tour ticks all the boxes. Would happily travel with them again.
