Our chalet was beautiful, clean and well-appointed, with everything we could have needed (including cheese knives!). The location itself is on the border of the national park and they have some gorgeous bushwalks on their own property if you don’t feel like driving the very short distance to the national park hikes. Nature is literally on your doorstop! No wi-fi, but that was a bonus for us. There is an extensive DVD and game library. The peace out there is truly something. A really special experience. You can’t hear any traffic from the lodge, just birdsong and kangaroos bounding through the bush.

Girraween Environment Lodge is a beautiful place to stay; however, a few days after our stay an additional $282 was charged onto our card with no explanation why. It took a few days to get a response from someone and they finally told us it was because we had slept in a bed we weren’t supposed to. We had 3 adults in our chalet and slept in 3 beds, but were charged an additional bed fee. This “policy” was never explained to us and when we tried to discuss it with the property managers, they just stopped responding. Unfortunately, this has ruined the experience for us and we cannot recommend it as a place to stay because we don’t want others to have additional charges placed on their card with no explanation or communication.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Girraween Environmental Lodge for a long weekend. I can't express how amazing the experience and stay was. The ability to completely switch off while there was unreal, the rooms were well maintained, we took ever opportunity to enjoy the the spa bath within our chalets, we enjoyed the hikes around the area, the staff were amazing, getting to watch them feed and care for the animals around the place was beautiful. it was just such a breathe of fresh air and amazing change to the city life. Would absolutely stay again and recommended anyone wanting to get away and switch off to go!

There could not be a better place to get away and switch off from the day to day. Great cabins, plenty of walking tracks and great food options near by. Highly recommended !!!!!

We recently celebrated a milestone birthday with a family weekend at the property. We were happily surprised with the cleanliness of the chalets, the amenities, and the sheer beauty of the location. Our children loved feeding the goats and deer, the swimming pool and spa, and watching the kangaroos and other wildlife. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The only down side was the inability to communicate with other members of the family, so if you’re going as a group I’d recommend taking a 2-way radio or walkie-talkies to help communication. Would definitely recommend and we’d love to visit again.
