Highlander Motor Inn and Apartments is known as Toowoomba’s friendliest place to stay.
The Highlander on James Street has built its reputation on warm welcomes and country hospitality. Mandy and her friendly team are familiar faces to the many return travellers who wouldn’t stay elsewhere.
They offer guests a choice of rooms and self-contained apartments to suit groups, families and business travellers – overnight and longer stays. Their town centre location adjoins Toowoomba Hospital and offers easy access and ample parking.
Chef Paul Shannon has designed breakfast and dinner menus to make you feel at home. Paul has a passion for cooking flavoursome and hearty meals with flair.

Great for two adults, however with the use of the queen sofa bed, can add two extra guests. Perfect quiet location to stop for a night or two while you explore Toowoomba. Located on the ground or first floor, with one flight of stairs. Soundproof between rooms helps with providing every guest with a peaceful nights sleep on the latest pillow top mattresses.

We recently stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and couldn't recommend this motel enough. The apartment was a great size, clean, and recently renovated. Appreciated that some of the rooms were dog friendly, so we could bring our dog. The staff were lovely, check in/out process was smooth and we couldn't hear any traffic from our room. Highly recommend and we will be back!

From the booking in to the cleanliness and room was spot on , friendly staff and good price. But. Ordered from onsite Cafe for room service. Apparently chef prepared meals as per signage, as well as price, we thought $35 for a t bone $29 for "A" pork cutlet???? Small and soaked in maple sauce and tinned cherries. Both meats were not edible, ordered medium and it had no moisture left in it at all. Was way over cooked and dry as an rm williams boot sole. And tougher? Wifes pork chop as well as steak were frozen we seen the meat taken from a freezer as receptionist checked with kitchen if they had the prok product and we witness them removed and you could taste the frost bite in the meat. NO CHEF would of sent that out to be eaten.irdered at 6 pm was meant for 645pm arrived 720pm.and the coleslaw??? was lettuce, diced pieces of tomato and caesar dressing???the Chefs potato??? Was a blob of frozen mash. Not worth even half the cost.worst we'd ever seen. Tossed both of them in bin and walked to kfc. How do you even approach that. Would of took photos but was so pissed off I'd tossed em . So great spot just don't eat.

Rooms are a little dated but very cozy. Staff and administration very accommodating, approachable and friendly. Comfort size TV and WiFi plus if you have Stan and Netflix you can join easily once you join their WiFi and add code. Just join the screen by scrolling to TV tab then either Netflix or Stan. Have posted how but depending if approved. If confused chat to admin. We had chosen the Apartments and requested car cover. Pets allowed hence we chose this Motel but do love the relaxed atmosphere. Two entries but note map in car doesn't pick up island's from both entries. So that will throw you off. My photos are after packup hence won't share cosy bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. Note ideal location for hospitals very close too. Loved all the Parks!! I recommend you visit them. Also a few at walking distance from Motel. Plenty of options for meals: motel and walking distance to other options. Plenty parking for tenants. Spa bath in rooms but the elderly might find the step down into bath extremely difficult and this room is not ideal or people less able. Eg. Unable to walk unaided.

Really disappointed the rooms heating does not work and the TV does not work. The staff have accepted a booking knowing that it is for a sick person on a hospital visit, they have allowed qld health to make full payment knowing the room is not fit for use.

Very old and run down. Our room smelled musty, Very poor lighting. Furniture and carpet stained. The shower over the bath is dangerous. Traffic noise from very early in the morning
